Nicklas Bendtner goes to Newcastle today full of belief - after it was revealed his self confidence is literally off the scale. Bendtner had Arsenal assistant boss Pat Rice in stitches as he even shocked a sports shrink during a psychology test on self-perceived competence. French psychologist Jacques Crevoisier, a trusted expert who regularly works with Arsenal̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s players, carried out a series of psychometric tests to see if their brain power matched their football ability. Bendtner showed self belief that Crevoisier had never seen in previous players he has worked with like Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka and David Trezeguet. Crevoisier, in an interview with Swedish magazine Offside, said: ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅOne of the categories is called ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ã âself perceived competence,̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ i.e. how good the player himself thinks he is. On a scale up to 9, Bendtner got 10! ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWe have never seen that before. Pat Rice was sitting next to me and couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t stop laughing. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWhen Bendtner misses a chance, he is always genuinely convinced that it wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t his fault. You might say that̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a problem, and to a certain degree it can be. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅBut you can also view it as this guy has an remarkably ability to come back after setbacks.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâàCrevoisier has devised a series of up to 117 questions to analyse self belief, concentration levels and determination. Arsene Wenger has known his fellow Frenchman for 40 years and Crevoisier - who specialises in working with young French players at the country̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Clairefontaine academy - has worked at Arsenal to help their youngsters. It is designed to ensure that Arsenal boss Wenger̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s players have the confidence to match their ability and, in Bendtner̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s case, that is something that is clearly not lacking Full article http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...dence-rating-ever-recorded-article690591.html I'd also like to point out the article saying "English players tend to lack mental strength compared to their french counterparts" good old nicky B he's more confident that humanly possible!! and in true 606 style... The Danes are all quite self-confident, they're also quite direct which can often be confused with arrogance. Danes will always score quite high on any form of psychological testing virtue of the balanced and much more civilised society they come from. You take someone from a very balanced and civilised society, give him talent and wealth and of course he will be supremely self-confident and have a very strong foundation to weather any moments of self doubt or external criticism. And then in contrast we have our English players who at times seem completely unable to manage their personal lives.
