Reading this mornings Mag rag Journal, it seems Bendtner is the only player available for interview. Lol Seriously though, he has been a complete breath of fresh air for us imo. He talks with such a positive manner all the time and for a lad who is still only 23 he is mature way beyond his years. He has been fantastic since he came to us, with 3 assists and 2 goals in his 6 games and is getting better with each game. Surely a priority in January should be making his a permanent move? Talk of the lad cisse is all well and good but losing Bendtner in may would be bad crack imo. Get him signed up Bruce before someone else does. He is top quality.
I must admit to being wrong about Bendtner, from what I'd seen of him he was lazy. But some arsenal supporters reckoned he was at loggerheads with Wenger, and was played wide right. Since he came to Sunderland, he looks a different player, working for the team, looks like he's enjoying his football again. Get him signed up as soon as poss, because there will be lots of interest in him soon.
Agree 100% cest. It has to be the main aim in January to tie this deal up. The problem we have is he's good enough to be a champions league footballer IMO
Neither of them will be here next year. Bendtner is looking for a big move and I can't see Gyan playing for us ever again.
Who is this Gyan of whom you speak?..... As for Bendtner, his workrate is excellent and I feel he is going to get better and better for us as he settles in..Let's hope he gets his first hattrick for us tomorrow eh...
The only way Bendtner will partner Gyan is if Bendtner goes to Gyan! (Can't remember the name of his world-beating team) x
As far as I can see it, we are in a no win situation..because if Mr Bendtner continues to play the way is is at the mo (which is quite impressive in my opinion) then, I reckon he will be on his way in the Jan window.Apparantly theres at least 4 La Liga sides eyeing him up and a couple of other fairly big clubs throughout Europe AND more significantly I dont bloody trust our lot to make the necessary efforts to secure him permanantly
Biffa - read today’s journal mate and you will see that he wont be moving to a European club at all mate. He has a small child (10 months old) here in the UK (London) and he absolutely does not want to move abroad. He said in the interview that it was essential to him that he remained in England and here at Sunderland we ticked all his boxes about size of club, profile, fan base and ambition and as he was only 2 hours away from seeing his child via airplane journey, he was very happy to be here. Whilst he did say that he would have maybe moved abroad had it been a sale, his preference was to stay in England. If I am reading the article right I reckon he will be very open to the idea of a permanent move and if the club are not thinking the same then they bloody well ought to be imo. Players like Bendtner, proven EPL quality and someone who I have admired for some time now, are not exactly growing on trees right now and he seems to me to be a very level headed lad who is just very confident about himself and his future. He has enjoyed a great start in his club form and this has transferred to his international form as well which for any player is perfect. He also seems to have dismissed this 'he is a bit aloof tag' by describing his team mates cutting up his fancy training gear as a bit of a hoot. 12m for him? A bloody steal imo.
I can't see this happening in Jan and we will spend all our money on a striker to partner him and on a Centre Half to replace Bramble. I think they will wait until the summer so see how Ji and Wickham do and to see what happens with Campbell. I think we need to sign the lad and a lot of that could depend on how much money we get for Gyan.
Isnt this a bit a dejavu ala when Bent came from Spurs, Bruce put his arm round him and made him feel wanted, as did us fans and it worked a treat until he went to Villa, and now we seem to have a repeat with Bentdner Bruce has got him playing regularly up front his preferred position and hes delivering the goods so far, I know our manager is not perfect but he certainly knows how to get the best out of players who come here after feeling neglected by their own clubs, so well done Brucie and long may it continue.
Cumbrian. You saying Bruce is a good manager / motivator because he takes a centre-forward and plays him at....................centre forward? If he can recognise that, how come a) Richardson is a left back and b) Sessegnon is a centre-forward? x
PLEASEEEEEE get Bendtner Sunderland!!! Would love it if we got him and Cisse in Jan for a combined 24 million (Bent's money)
I believe Bendtner is available but it will cost 12m at least and according to newpaper reports Cisse has been quoted at 18m? Hes totally unproven in a physuical league (remember Alvez for the boro) and too rich for him imo but I'd take NB at the drop of a hat. 12m well spent imo.
Reckon those reports about 18 million for Cisse is bullshit. Probably get him for around 12 if he wants to leave IMO.
