It always leaves a nasty taste in my mouth when I hear this type of story, be it a footballer or a pensioner? It may be a tad extreme but if and when the scumbags are caught, I would like to see them publicly flogged, tarred and feathered and forced to watch Portsmouth home games.
The damage is not merely to the property and assets but psychological. Your home is where you should feel safe, where, if you've had a bad day, you can close the doors on the world and forget about it. Burglary is not merely theft of possessions, but an intrusion into your core. I hope the police catch the scumbags that are doing this.
I feel that a good punishment for burglars is allowing the victim to go into their house and select things at random as compensation. See how they like it. Mind you with some burglars, you'd want to wear protective gloves before entering their house.
I wonder if the burglar knows the heroic effort Franny went to in order to raise money for charity. Struggling to think of a more undeserving person to suffer from such a heinous crime
That's true! The culprit should be made to run round every football ground in England without shoes over broken glass.
Saints home's being targeted in the Hampshire area; the burglars are probably Pompy fans anyway, so that's not much of a deterrent. Although any burglary in the Hampshire area, chances are they are Pompy fans.
As I See it Magistrates are too lenient when and if these people are caught. That is also the case with the receivers of stolen goods. In my eyes they are worse as without them the thieves would have to try and rid themselves of the merchandise and would be far more likely to be caught. Someone suggested they be made to run around the football grounds of the premier league and over broken glass. It was suggested this was too lenient. I agree......they should have their hands and feet cut off to make it extremely difficult to thieve again. Barbaric........ certainly......... but a definite deterrent perhaps..............
