    He's flying back to New Zealand to see his parents.
    England day he's being excused for family reasons, been a bit out of sorts lately so could have had more important things on his mind.

    Not only the right call, the only call. It's just a game at the end of the day, Cricket just does this better than football - almost certainly because the money and pressure isn't quite the same but even so.

    Absolutely right. Cricket seems to be a completely different animal from a "management" perspective to football. Cricket just handles it better as you say
