What happened to Cerny in the end? Is he permanently banned, I miss his sometimes laughable 'inside sources'
I agree, I miss my old mucker too. A definite absence of light and shade on this board since he and Swords were excluded. Obscure [and I accept not perfectly accurate] but perhaps there's a close simile with what it going on in Russia? A bit unfair, and by no means a reflection of our current moderator QPR999, but thought I'd share this nonetheless. Returning to the question, I think the CernyBerny and Secret Ranger accounts were permanently banned. I recall a brief return under a new moniker that was immediately halted too. If I recall correctly the context of the narrartive posted at the time of the ban; the deal was that it was too difficult for the moderators to spend their time 'Cerny / Swords hunting', hence if they returned under new aviators inconginto, and did not breach the rules, as with any new contributor this would be accepted and remain 'unbanned'. As you can gather, I would welcome them back as I found their varied and sometimes controversial views added great richness to the content posted here.
How quickly some forget. Cerny is permanently banned for inciting violence and abusive comments both on our forum and elsewhere. He will not be welcomed back. Swords is currently enjoying a 3 month ban as a result of his unwarranted and personal attack on Brixton after countless previous warnings for similar offenses. This ends on approximately 10th August. He will be very welcome to return if he can stay within the agreed guidelines.
Rollercoaster Ranger thank you for clarifying. Perhaps I am too quick to forgive, and evidently to forget too! I must admit, I didn't see all of the posts that were cited - I suspect that some were on other boards and I don't venture onto those often if at all. I always found Cerny to be engaging and was never inciteful towards me. That said, I fully respect your judgement and position. I do however lament the absence of light and shade on this board, but agree that this should be channelled in a friendly and non inciteful way.
Yes you did see the disgusting posts sku, 'cos you commented on them at the time (Years of all night raves and pharmaceuticals havn't rotted my memory THAT much) This board is a far better place without the c*** (IMO) and I for one don't miss his constant drivel of b**** one little bit. At least now we can look at transfer rumours and have some kind of belief.
