Another one of our former players to be released, Notts County have made him available on a free. I'm not saying we should make a move for him, but Big Ben scored 24 goals in three seasons for Blackpool in the Championship before his poor season at Notts County. Can he still do a job at Championship level?
My last memory of him was at a mid week CC match at Blackpool one freezing night. Burgess was ambling around without an ounce of will, he was dire. Someone close to me shouted what we were all feeling, "FFS Ben, do something!" He just turned around and replied "Fk Off!"

lets all simmer down, bens a big lad which is what we need, but out of all the other stories, i'd rather we picked up iwelumo or howard. a better question would've been 'burgess or adebola'
The last thing we need is tension amongst City fans... Undoubtedly, I would have Howard/Iwelumo over big Ben. I don't think we should re-sign Ben Burgess. I was just simply putting it out there that he was on a free transfer, and has a good goals to game ratio even in the Championship. If you were asking Burgess or Adebola, honestly, I don't think there's much in it
i'll always have a soft spot for Burgess cos he scored a hat-trick at the very first City game I went to
