Imagine a starting line up with Ben Arfa and Mitrovic, just need Joey Barton to get he's ban overturned and re-sign him too

Without doubt the OP is correct and it's Charnley he's meeting....but.....aren't there a couple of other clubs near London Heathrow airport? #justsaying

And isn't there a direct flight service from Paris to Newcastle? #justsayingagain

I understand that your comments make common sense, however Benny wouldn't do this to us. he has to be meeting Charnley, it's not like he just fancied spending his holidays in London when he has the choice of the whole world!

Different management too, this isn't gonna be Carver or Pardew Managing him, it will be Rafa and if (big if) we could convince him to come back, I'm sure we will get the best out of him. On his day he is simply unplayable and would bring more entertainment than the rest of the squad combined.

I'm surprised no one's brought up the fact that the PSG manager hasn't really played him and that they had a bit of a falling out. Unai Emery, the same manager who failed to win the league with PSG! Seriously with the budget available I could win that league, shows what a good manager he is.

I sincerely hope you are just pissing about here. I had you down as bit more wise than this.

The manager does not matter. A disciplinarian like Rafa is probably the last thing he needs in reality. We just don't need the poison - and that is what he is. For all we can put down Pardew and Carver, other players loved working for the former. The likes of Cabaye an Remy even went for 2nds. You only have to read their interviews on signing for Palace.

Even if you did want to ignore all that and live in some fantasy realm, you then have the issues of Perrin, Bruce, Unai, Deschamps. Basically the only manager who he hasn't fallen out with is Puel. Why? As it was desperation and last chance saloon. Got his big move. Same old problems.

Perhaps his best bet is Southampton.

I wish we could put this **** behind us. I am starting to think Nev was right on the other thread <laugh>

I'm surprised you haven't brought up Puel. The only manager he hasn't fallen out with in his 13 years in professional football.

I don't think Rafa is this stupid anyway so I'm not worried.

The likes of Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Remy helped us finish 5th and within a whisker of a top four finish. And although I agree they are self serving human beings with very little respect I enjoyed that season immensely.

Football's turned into a business, a win by any means possible type of game. Mourinho and Diego Simeone optimise this, they will park 10 men behind the ball and happily win 1-0, whereas I watch football for an entirely different reason, I watch it for the Laurent Robert's, Ginola's, Ronaldinho, Ben Arfa's I watch it to be entertained, to win 5-4 to attack and score beautiful goals. I'm not into this strategic money spinner where everyone's to afraid to over commit in fear of losing. I understand it, because of the pressures and finances involved, I just don't agree with it.

I agree. I've said many times I want to be entertained. However there is a tendency with HBA to look at it through rose tinted spectacles. He actually delivered on his talent very rarely while here. The single biggest factor in a squad not delivering entertainment and results is disharmony. Ginola, Robert, Ronaldinho never brought that. Their teammates would admonish them now and again for not tracking back, but they were professional guys in the main (I know Ronaldinho lost the plot at the end but he wasn't always like that). Ben Arfa has managed one professional season without issue in his 13 years. We can look back to one 3/4 of a season when we finished 5th of him actually entertaining. The rest of the time was either spent talking about him getting fit again, or him to stop acting like a spoilt brat. He caused disharmony in the squad.

Look at Leicester. It all got away from them this season and then they rediscovered it. It was like chalk and cheese. If for one minute I thought Ben Arfa was a changed man, and was about to deliver on his ridiculous talent, any man would take him in their side. The overwhelming evidence suggests after 13 years, countless problems with those in charge, and very little actual delivery on the big green rectangle, it ain't gonna happen. Why would we risk it for that? Go and find the next one. He's 30 yr old, unfortunately he's blown it.

To be fair to the guy he's won 3 europa leagues. That's more than all of Newkies history in european competition!

Lastly, if you want Ben Arfa, the last thing he wants is Rafa, a disciplinarian who wants his teams to have a great shape and to work hard. Ben Arfa would stuck having a tantrum after Rafa subs him off for going on a mazy run
