Funny to think that Ben Arfa rejected Liverpool to join us only to have Carroll who supposedly loves our club choose to join them. I think he's made a big mistake tbh and could regret this decision as he was a hero here and we built our club around him and played to a style that suited him. Will Liverpool do that? I don't think so cos he will be just 'another player' to them. Anyway can't wait to have Ben Arfa back, he's twice the player Carroll is and cost a seventh of the price.
Also think we should go 4-5-1 now cos our midfield is so strong but our strikers are pretty poor, somethin like this...

    -----------Ranger

    Jonas----Ben Arfa----Barton

    ------Tiote----Nolan

Ireland can fill the gap while Ben Arfa gets back to full fitness

I agree with the 4-5-1 formation

But I don't think Ranger is ready to play that roal on his own yet, I would leave it to Shola to see how he fairs being our number 1 striker

I would also play Ireland and try and get his best form out, he is a top player if he plays to his best

Something more like this is what I think

    Barton Tiote Nolan Ben Arfa

    Ireland

    Ameobi

Caroll was only good because he was in the Championship last year, without headers he's nowt. Liverpool expect to sell one of the greatest strikers in the Premiership (world?) and buy someone who has had a decent start in a few games. Poool won't achieve top 10 this year not a chance and when AC ends up at Forrest we'll see who has the last laugh, met him in town and he was a **** then as well. He and Bent can suck the North East's DICK.

NO, Carroll was much more than that Tiote, classic striker. Unique. Irreplacable.

Get a grip. If Torres can't help Liverpool, Caroll will do worse, unless you think he's better than Torres?

    Barton Tiote Nolan Ben Arfa

    Ireland

    Ameobi
    -----------------------------

This is exactly it for me! With Shola in and Ranger coming on 2nd half - he can changes games as we saw against Lieverpool.

I would also be tempted to give Arfa that free role, and maybe sometimes play him just off the striker TBH, I think he would cause nightmares running through the heart of a defence!

I worry slightly for Nolan, who at moment is bagging goals like any striker is. I worry that with him playing a but deeper he may not get the chance, although this is where Ireland should be at his best

Tiote, it's not as simple as that. Before Schevchenlo moved to Chelsea would you have said Ameobi was better? Course not! But it turned out that Ameobi would've most likely scored more than Schevchenko if he was in the same team. Carroll worked perfectly in our set up, made a mockery of most defences in the league and is the closest thing to a complete centre-forward in the league. Right now he is irreplaceable but in time we could see the likes of Ranger blossom. We have to move on, pretending he wasn't that good is just foolish.

I know he worked for us, at the moment, afterall our midfiled also played a huge part in getting his goals. Ranger needs to sort his self out before Pardew even thinks about startin him, as a sub he does a job with fresh pace and strength against tired defences. What I'm sayin is he's basically not goin to achieve anything with Liverpool IMO, he's replaced one of the best strikers goin. Liverpool was a 2 man team - now there's just 1 left with Caroll coming in. If he stayed at toon I think he could have been something special, but his EGO amongst the other EGOs who basically are better players is going to clash.
