That was arguably a weaker side than the one that lost to milan - but we still managed to put 3 past them. Who cares that we didn't go through? Top, top performance against the best team in Italy! If we'd performed better in the first leg we might have stood a chance here. No time for if buts and maybes... a valiant effort on the night but not good enough.
Unfortunately Clint Dempsey is probably not going to be happy sitting on the bench for as much as Park and Chamackh do. In order to get him, we will probably have to leave RVP out of a few games. This is the problem when you have a great striker at a club. Signing a backup willing to sit on the bench for 3/4 of the season is not easy.
I notice Wellington is actually getting a game now as well. Next year may come a little early for them, but Ryo, Campbell and maybe Wellington, should be available for the front 3 spots somewhere.
