Seems another talent from Belgium-Januzaj-the list is growing. Stan Ternant needs to get a liking for Belgium beer, might not be good for his waistline but could be good for City's future. But he better not have too many of the real strong ones before watching a game otherwise it might cloud his judgment. Hear the pomme frites are good as well.
said 2 years ago belgium would make semis at the world cup & I'm sticking by it.. at the time people laughed and said "what Belgium??".. then I named their players... since then Lukaku & this guy have also popped up..
We should be setting up camp there, both in terms of attracting support and tapping up their star larkers.
Don't understand why we haven't got an extensive scouting network in Holland and Belgium, we have the best connections to the lowlands in the Premier League and support there for Hull City is well established and growing.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ys-Manchester-United-manager-David-Moyes.html How sad that we are reduced to trying to bend the rules to steal other countries' talent. And smaller countries' talent at that. No wonder we struggle to get support from other countries when world cup venue decisions come round. Have we not learned from the Mohammed Farah bogus Brit fiasco?
Very sad indeed. Imagine, if Messi's or Maradona's grannies had been born in The Falklands, England could have claimed them !!! Where's Maggie Thatcher when she's needed.
We don't need Baroness Thatcher, just a bit of integrity and honesty. The kid is not even 1% English.
Why would you want to play for a country you have no affiliation to? He's a great prospect, if I was him I'd definitely pick Belgium - just look at the players they have. His prospect of winning anything are far better with Belgium.
Big admirer of the Belgium team, been following them for a while. Probably my 'second team' internationally. (I am actually part Belgian, so I do have a very slight excuse) I think Belgium can win the Euros in 2016. By then the best players will be beginning to reach their peaks, and they'll be unbelievably good. Belgium have been good for a few years tbf, they've just crept under the radar. They were unlucky to miss out on the Euros last year.
I'd say we'd be better off copying whatever has led to the emergence of a sudden batch of their best players since Enzo Schifo. It can't be coincidence or luck surely?
There have always been instances of a group of talented players emerging together (Man Utd in the 90s) Belgium had Ceulemans, Preud'homme, Gerets, Wilmot and Scifo. Then nowt. We need more qualified coaches (see Spain). End of chat.
