Just watched the film with the family, really enjoyed it. Score by Van Morrison made it, any recommended albums of his as I've heard of him, but never listened to his stuff?
Watched it a couple of weeks back, enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Hadn't realised VM done the music.
Never would have thought that luvvie Kenneth Branagh would have had that kind of upbringing. just goes to show you should never judge a book by its front bits
Mate, there's a wealth of stuff to listen to,he's a favourite of mine. He's a fabulous songwriter and a brilliant, versatile musician. However, you have to be a bit choosy, his albums can be a mixture of absolute brilliance and sometimes mediocre. Have a listen to Astral Weeks and Moondance....more modern is Magic Time. There's some great songs on all of those. There is also a "Best of"......some of his more well known songs, but not all his best, are on that. It's a good place to start.
Astral Weeks one of the best Albums ever made, then buy the next three in release order if you like the first. Into the mystic.
Will watch it when I get the chance, watching Chloe atm. the score here is interesting with Portishead and Goldfrapp, interspersed with a wide range of artists including Massive Attack., its watchable, no more, but gets you away from the current reality for a while at least. On Van thiis is a good read https://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2016/jun/01/van-morrison-10-of-the-best but for me Astral Weeks and Moondance are addictive, You Tube is well worth a visit, it came late in my life but would have saved me a hell of a lot of money back in the day, its where I now spend time rather than cash.
