Sorry guys - I just can't leave this go......... Quote from Terry Phillips on WOL......... "Slade has been a first team Football League manager in almost 700 matches over 20 years. You never know, he may well have learned a bit in that time. Invariably the people having a go at the manager have absolutely no experience of management themselves and would be completely lost if confronted with a group of 30-odd players and told: “Lead them to promotion". Slade must be judged, but now is not the right time. It is only fair to wait and see what he does in January and where he can get the Bluebirds come the end of the season." It may be his opinion and he's entitled to it, but it comes across as being patronising toward the real Cardiff fan base who read his stuff. Lets have a look at what he said.......... "Slade has been a first team Football League manager in almost 700 matches over 20 years". Really? And what has he achieved over those 700 games and 20 year? Absolutely **** all in reality - 3 League One manager of the month with Orient, and 2 League One manager of the year, one each with Yeovil and Orient. He's spent it all in the lower reaches of the league and never taken a team up from any division - if had that much potential, he'd have moved onwards and upwards before now. "Invariably the people having a go at the manager have absolutely no experience of management themselves" That's pretty obvious being as there are over 20,000 regulars who watch his stuff. I doubt many of us have been managers but have watched the game for far more years than he's been a manager. That doesn't prevent us from offering honest opinions. "Slade must be judged, but now is not the right time". I disagree. We have the right to form opinions on the basis of what we've seen so far and it's far from impressive to say the least. Slade might have seduced the media with his "sincerity" when interviewed, and there is an element of sympathy (misplaced in my opinion) that he's inherited a squad that wasn't of his own making. So what? So did Rowett, Lennon and Symons who have all turned their teams around and climbed the table whilst we've stagnated at best. "It is only fair to wait and see what he does in January and where he can get the Bluebirds come the end of the season." Could be some justification for that approach, though the views and opinions of others at the moment who do not write for the media have a right to be heard and not just be rubbished by a journo who's paid to express his.
I read that and like everything that buffoon says, I largely ignored it. I wondered why in fact I did read it.
that's one thing I don't understand with us brits ninian....why the fk does anyone read anything by this shower of sh.i.t we call media anyways... no offence guys but if you know it will be lies and idle gossip why waste money on destroying forests in the process
No offence taken aber, but logging destroys forests, not logging on. Haven't bought a chip paper for years.
good man sparkey.......im sure they have a hits counter on his stuff online and all>>>>>>give none of your time 2reading and maybe they will take the hint and sack the sad journo fk wit
