After the previous thread discussing Sczensny (sp?) and if he's a qualified no. 1 and the majority of conclusions being drawn that he's a great no. 2 but has work to put in and/or needs a challenge from another talented keeper to be a true top class no. 1, I saw this article and especially after how Begovic played last match as well as his form over the season he may be our man (if we can ever get the cast-iron chastity belt from our purse strings!)? Here's the article (I was looking for a more English source, but you know I'm just a yank ) http://m.espn.go.com/soccer/story?storyId=1327404 Lookin forward to feedback!
Begovic has been impressive this season, but Wenger has clearly placed a lot of trust in Chensey, so I can't see him spending big money on a new GK.
Will do! Not many places to watch matches here unfortunately but a beautiful town. I'm trying to convince my wife that we need to move to London
Agreed! I just think the competition put forth by Begovic would make Wojech's plateau that much higher, at least higher than Mannone and Fabianski will make it.
Haha funny you mention Pendleton! I've definitely seen my fair share of military squaring up to each other but no rumbles like my hometown of Philadelphia. Last good one I got into was during a match out here with a shorter Mexican kid, lets just say I held him at arms length and teed off like Tiger . My mate from Ipswich loves to tell me about his fights back home at matches and pubs, my kind of town!
??? I'm talking about your ears man Where in San Diego do you live ? Perhaps there's another name for it locally, you must know - everybody talks about it !!!
I'm in El Cajon at the moment lived in Mission Beach and Serra Mesa as well. Sorry for the random tangent I'm still new to the lingo! I'm drawing a complete blank, I definitely hear the FA-18s and the choppers all the time! When I first moved here one crashed into a house a mile from mine (pilot ejected safely, house was empty luckily too). Let me know if I'm still being an idiot and not answeing your question! Hopefully you tried some local beer while you were here, we have some phenomenal ales and IPAs (thanks to you English for inventing them!).
There were four people killed in that crash. That was pretty well known at the time ??? What did you think of University City's reaction after the crash ? I often wonder if the Marines had more influence than they should have in that declaration. I think you probably know it as the boom down there ?
Getting back on topic, this is a valid point. Chensey's number 1 spot at Arsenal is under no serious threat despite some dodgy performances. A better back up would push him more, the only problem is, how much do we spend on another keeper?
I heard a rumble a few nights ago! I've lived like 30 minutes from Pendleton almost my entire life and that was the first time I've heard it from my house.
Camp Pendleton is north of San Diego which is just about 3000 miles away from Philadelphia, so no! My local baseball team would be the Anaheim Angels, but I really couldn't care less about baseball.
