MH has a very interesting decision to make this weekend which could go a long way towards defining our keeper situation next season. If he selects Butland will it signal the end for Bego at Stoke? I personally would be disappointed if Bego left. He has been a class act and has saved us on numerous occasions. I have been reading opinions on 'the oatcake' (I don't subscribe to it btw) and there seems to be a lot of criticism of his performances over recent weeks and I get the feeling that many on that forum think he should be sold. On the other hand we have a good young English international goalkeeper who has recently signed a long term contract who surely would not want to sit on the bench for the duration. Recent events (namely Swansea) seem to have soured things between Begovic and Hughes so maybe keeper selection vs Burnley could affect things. Thoughts?

    Butland for me.

Bego has been/is one of the best keepers in Europe, all keepers have a few off games, Courtois (sp), de Gea and Hart are no exceptions.

Get as much as poss for Bego and make Butland a future England keeper. In my opinion.

    Hello Gentlemen,

With respect I think that Asmir Begovic (and his agents) will be the ones who will decide his future. It's an arkward situation for Mark Hughes because on the one hand he'll probably want Asmir to stay, but then the club will be looking at the financial side of the equation i.e. in one year's time he'll (Asmir) be a free agent. The other factor of course is that Jack Butland has just signed another contract and he'll be wanting to play, probably at Premier League level, on a regular basis. Therefore a conundrum of sorts.
Both excellent good keepers with their longer term futures ahead of them. Aren't we lucky - the tradition of Stoke having a first class goalie continues!
