I reckon it's all a ploy - I think the tories want out (including those who are acting in the "in" camp) but, as we are currently aprt of the EU, they can;t publicly say that (Cameron and the others) because it would cause friction in their relationship!

What could he say about Turkey other than they are not in EU they had not met the criteria and there at least six countries who would veto them even if they did meet all of the criteria, so they will never be a member of the EU.
I believe turkey have passed one of 35 points. But as they have major problems regards Cyprus, it's a long time before turkey come to the party for sure

Why put a timeframe on it, you said they won't ever get elected to be a member of the EU. They might not be in the EU in 25 years, I agree with you (although I certainly wouldn't rule it out) but one day they will be. Even if it is 100 years down the line, they'll be part of the EU. That might not matter to you, but my great grandkids and their offspring will be kicking about then and I'm thinking about them, not myself. You can hand my gallon of beer over to Billy, btw.
