At least suggest Gray who actually plays as a winger - Amartey only played there to help out Simpson with Cresswell and Payet and played like someone out of position.

I want to see Albrighton and Mahrez switch wings more - West Ham were primarily attacking down their left with Cresswell and Payet meaning that Mahrez had to defend more.

Also Fuch and Mahrez down a wing would be a good sight to see.

Anyone but Schlupp, always feel hes not sure about what he should be doing when he comes on.

Mahrez does get ganged up on, but it opens up space for Kante and DD

Id definately be tempted to play Mahrez in behind Okazaki for Swansea though.

With Vardy out you now want to take our biggest goal threat out?

Mahrez is a marked man now and he at least 2 players closing him down all the time. Despite having a bad game you always feel he can do something at any moment

I think Mahrez actually had a pretty good game up until Vardy got sent off, that pass to Kanté for the goal was lovely. It's unfair to really judge him after that, we know he's going to struggle when we're defending. Glad he wasn't on the pitch to take the penalty though! Ulloa's was lovely!

Yep when he come on in 53rd minute I thought this could turn the tide against us in our charge to the title.
The 57th minute madness of Vardy turned it even more.

However it was him who got the penalty (or stupidity of Carroll)

Schlupp was playing on the left wing - came on for Albrighton and stayed there all game.

Even when Ranieri shouted at him to get him to play as a striker.
and also did pop up on right side of field - they played the ball to our left and we were one short

Grey looks a bit raw atm for the prem. Amartey looks more of a hand full to me anyway. Mahrez is out of form & keeps trying to many tricks & he´s giving the ball away alot, he has done for the last 3 or 4 games.
Just my opinion, I doubt he´ll gt dropped anyway.

Posted this on another thread before I'd read this one, so apologies for repetition.

On the face of it, losing Vardy for the next match (or more) ought to be a big problem for us as he our leading scorer by some margin. But, because Drinkwater et al try to hit him so early, that is also our biggest cause of giving possession away needlessly. It obviously does have a measure of success when it comes off, but yesterday's goal was far more controlled and the quality of the 2 passes was top drawer. I would really like to see us retain possession better, as we are also vulnerable to the counter attack when we lose it, and Champions League teams will take advantage of it. Retaining possession doesn't mean passing sideways or backwards, it just means we build a little more slowly but with more accuracy. We have some very accomplished ball players in our team - Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kante, Albrighton, Fuchs - they are all comfortable in possession but they often don't get a chance to show it because of the desire to hit Vardy so early.

Next week I'd like to see Ulloa lead the line with Mahrez just behind. Take away his defensive duties and let him have more licence to find space in the holes and then go past defenders; basically let him do what he does best. It isn't the time to introduce Dodoo or put Schlupp in a role he isn't very good at. Horses for courses at this time of the season. I can't see Okazaki fulfilling the Vardy role; he doesn't have the pace or finishing ability. He's a good foil for Vardy but I can't see him gelling with any other striker. On the wing we can have Schlupp or Gray. Schlupp is probably more experienced and gives us the opportunity to feed Leo from both flanks if we have Albrighton on the right, but Gray also looks very promising and is starting to understand his defensive duties.

    Game very much still on!

What is the general feeling from your lot - think that it is winnable for you?

Also is it a positive that Vardy isn't playing?

Our general feeling is we've been very lucky with Guidolin in charge , getting 18 points from 12 games .
We are struggling to find our way and it sure showed up in Newcastle .
We seem to play good against top teams , and not so good against non top teams ......just got to figure out where to catagorize Leicester .....lol

... for me , to get the ebst out of Riyad we need to free him ... at the moment he is getting doubled if not trebled up everytime he gets the ball wide right ... I don't think it would work moving him into a free role behind Shinji Okazaki ... too lightweight as a sole front player against physical prem defenders ... but it might work behind Leo Ulloa ... if we can get the right service into Leo he can be a handfull for any defence ...

Its tough as with Ulloa starting i think we need to real wingers playing to get the best out of him. Moving Mahrez central and playing Schlupp/Gray and Albrighton it would allow Ulloa to get good service. Mahrez wont be looking to cross the ball into him
