Following a long 160 mile drive, I like a bit of refreshment, having parked the car. And then walk to the ground. Hoppers has suggested meeting up at Isaacs, sounds sensible but isnt that quay a long way Hoppers? I tend to park at the spiral as it makes for good gettaway. Rileys is busy I know and a bit mad, but its a lot closer. Is there another good pub I maybe dont know about, where those of us who are going to see this cracker, can meet up, take the proverbial piss out of each other, have a good laugh and get to see each other. If we can agree a watering hole, Warky owes me at least 2 pts!......I will buy the first two 606 ers a pint......and I sport a white beard( for only a few more hours!) and wear a faded light green jacket.
As the last line started I was expected some sort of Santa reference. You could always go in the Station Hotel and try and blend in with the enemy by singing Chris Rea songs in the appropriate accent and coughing loudly followed by complaints about pollution related illness. Sounds like a laugh to me. I only mention this because I lived in Newcastle and this is what the natives told me ‘boro fans behaved like.
I've ventured into the Curve Bar prior to a match... (on the rare occasion I make it to the ground with time to spare..) It was half decent, not the throng of people that mill around in Rileys and as it's on Princes road it's only a short walk away from the ground
ive always wondered what would have happened had chris rea and mark knopfler got together......................
Its one of those songs that I grew up with... My Mum was a huge Jim Reeves fan and to be honest I really like his mellow voice!
