We were gloomily looking at dropping out of the top 2 if we couldn't get our act together against Forest. Well we did, and now we can look at the "problem" of overhauling West Ham so that we can carry on singing our song. It is quite simply contrary to one of nature's laws to play games any other time than Saturday at 3.00, and I for one am feeling completely out of sorts not having a game to go to today. I thought about going to see Chester but it's raining and I'm very much a fair weather fan when it comes to watching a team other than Saints. Anyway, fellow Saints, it's a bit of a slow news day. Pompey scuppered us at the last - no surprise there - but Forest didn't concede 6 goals and so our GD is still healthier than that of the Hammers. Boro are drifting, but we need to watch out for Birmingham among others. But let's celebrate. Last weekend I had a few beers to celebrate us being top of the league still. This weekend I am toasting the fact that going into the FA Cup break we shall be in the top 2 at least and that the future of this club is still in our own hands. Settle for that?
Until the end of Monday's match we are only second on a technicality so I shall ignore it. I do feel that these changes in match times do not do us any favours. Matches should be 3.00 on Saturday with occasional midweek matches. Still next year we'll have to get used to those Sunday matches, won't we?
