As I thought,Asda had a "technical problem" and stopped selling wines @25% off.
Someone obviously inputed the wrong data.
Arse kicking for someone.
Still me and a few others can enjoy the fruits of their cock up <bubbly><bubbly><bubbly>
And what has that got to do with the Wimpy in Felixstowe ?

<grr>

Went for a breakfast in the Cricketers Ipswich and they were selling all their real ales for 99p pint .

Had some tomato sauce by the Irish brand Chef at an Irish pub in Kalgoorlie earlier this week. It was disgusting, maybe it had gone off, had an awful taste!

Has anyone been to any of these - and how do they compare to the Chip Inn?

https://www.edp24.co.uk/things-to-do/food-reviews/three-norfolk-fish-and-chip-shops-best-uk-9280948

Down to the important business. So unfortunately the chip inn is no longer particularly good. The old owners have sold up and standards have dropped. So 2 might be better, maybe even 3!

I've only been to the Grosvenor of the 3 and I was a bit under whelmed. However it has been a good few years since I visited so it could be better now. I'd call it a tie as things stand.

The other two, no idea.

I was in Cromer a couple of weeks ago and finally tried No.1, I wasn't impressed. lacked flavour and very over priced.

Bah!

Later became 'Refreshers' (what a meh name for a boozer!) notable only for a brilliant pinball table on which I used to excel <ok>

My main memory of the Raven dates back to the late 1970's. I was actively involved with CAMRA and the Watneys desert had ended with proper beer flowing again. During one of the charity drives at work some silly buggar worked out that with the Raven opening at 4am for the market traders and the American Club in Lobster Lane not closing until 4am you could drink round the clock and being idiots my mate and I agreed to do it and be sponsored. 24 hours at half a pint an hour equals 12 pints - childs play!! We started in the Raven at 4am - have you ever tried sitting in a pub for an hour sipping half a pint - don't bother trying it!! By 4.30 we were on pints and by 10.30 we had got to the Fruiterers pissed as parrots and had to be taken home. My wife was very sympathetic - not!!

My Son who works in Norwich says the best Pub/beer is still the Fat Cat followed by the Garden House on Pembroke Road and the Hop Rocket on Unthank Road. Best Fish and Chips - Woodbines in Wymondham.

Wetherspoons are regularly knocked by a lot of people, but they sell good draught beers at cheap prices. Food is a bit of a gamble, but had some good meals at cheap prices. Troll Cart in Great Yarmouth is my local.
