I find it funny that we are to be honest, people are forgetting that we're the premier league champions, of course things have changed, we've got a new manager but its the same players, i have a good feeling about this season.
I don't think people are writing Man U off in any way. Personally, I just think it will be a closer season: United - change of Manager. The "Fergie factor" has gone. Good squad City - more new players and an excellent squad Chelsea - Jose returns, plus good squad All of this little up/down elements should mean a really close and competitive season. I would be surprised if there is more than 5 points between the 3 teams come the end of the season.
People are writing us off because Moyes is British. He needs a more exotic name. That's the way English football has gone.
True dat. You get comments like this: Conveniently ignoring the fact that City have a manager who has won nothing in Europe, despite managing the two richest clubs in Spain. Seems like Manchester's era at the top of English football is now prematurely over...
but Swarbs, he's got an exotic name, that counts for something ( according to the press and ABU's it does ).
Not sure if its because of Moyes' name. I think its just because people know Moyes and most people have probably not read up on Pellegrini and just assumed he was good because City hired him and he has a cool nick name.
You'd be a fool to write United off. A Fergie-less United is an unknow beast though, especially with a team that is good but doesn't stand out as being great + no new signings (yet).
Should give you even more pleasure then when you retain your title next season, but not after you lose the first game of the season of course
Who's written you off? In my humble opinion City have the best combination of squad and manager with Chelsea not far behind and United not far behind that. Van Persie will do very well to have such a good season again and I don't think your squad has the attacking options of City's calibre. I like Moyes a lot and think in time he'll do a fine job but a good start is key and I don't see more than 8 points from the first five games. Would like to be proved wrong though.
agree City have best team on paper, and have a godo manager, meanwhile the new manager is new to PL, Jose himself is trying new style of football he never tried before in PL, those 2 may need some time till adjust and learn , so it is not as straightforward as you think, i think among those 3 managers, Pellegrini will need more time to adopt and will find the difference shocking
Jose knows the premier league (having won it twice), knows the club and knows a good number of the players. Moyes knows the league but not the players (save for Rooney who he's fallen out with) and not the club. Pellegrini has the toughest job for me but then Moyes. The step up is massive for him.
That has been nullified by bringing in Giggs and Neville on his coaching team (plus Scholes when he is ready).
Chav FC have the hardest task of winning the league, Jose must win or he is out of a job, he has little £££ to spend due to FFP so RA needs to balance the books. With ££££ anything can happen UTD won the leage at a canter, so even with out SAF, Sir David will still continue what AF did and to win silverware with UTD
