Ben Reeves going out on loan to a League 2 side has made me think they are sending him out on loan to beef him up a bit? A bit of a common trend amongst our youngsters, although Reeves is slightly older than most of them

Sam Hoskins & James Ward-Prowse have both made their 1st team debuts this season, but both looked very lightweight against Championship players and the same could possibly be said of numerous youngsters, including Doble, Isgrove & Shaw

Ward-Prowse recently tweeted he has had 2 gym session in 2 days, perhaps to build up his strength, so it's something the club have highlighted surely? These players amongst many will be great for us and/or other sides, but just need that beefing up either through gym sessions or loans at lower clubs (similar to Steven Mowthorpe at Totton & Eling)

    Thoughts?

They just need to eat the gym.
Dag & Redbridge play the same type of football as saints do,so he won't have to adjust too much <laugh>.

In the Premiership strength is less important in the Championship bully boys often prevail.

This is often heard, I'm not sure it's true though.

Premiership players are skilful AND physical. You can get by at lower levels being one or the other.

I agree that the Premiership is physical, however smaller players can succeed in the Premiership as you cannot get away with such strong challenges which is why 'strong and physical' defenders eg. Darren Moore ilk cannot make the step up from the Championship.

You can't really get away with it in the championship either, cf. Fox's ludicrous red card against Birmingham.

Reason those defenders can't step up is because they are just physical and not technically good enough, I think anyway.

Meanwhile, plenty of small players excel in the championship. Many smaller players can cope with a physical challenge and the ones who succeed in the PL fall into that category too.
