Now that I have got your attention.
Are there any experienced play makers in the premiership in the twilight years of their careers that city could bring in during the January transfer window to assist us to get into the play offs. A midfield general sort of player who can control the game and doesn't want a shedload of cash. Now that could be a stumbling block. Someone who at the moment is warming his clubs subsitutes bench and desperate to play more than the last 20 minutes.
I know David Scholes has recently retired but I think getting a player of his quality would only boost our chances of promotion. We have had top players drop down a league before for example Terry Neil and Billy Bremnar so why not now.
And with regards to Beckham we don't have a squad player allocated number 23. So you never know. Imagine the shirt sales and the tattoo parlours profits....And seeing Posh shopping down Hessle Road.

    Feel free to abuse me.....

David Scholes, now he was a good player and alongside Donald Giggs and Derek Rooney, they were almost unstoppable. <whistle>

I think any additions in January will be dependant on outgoings, if we lose Oli and possibly Harper then we may look at doing some business, it will depend on how we're getting on.

Due to the time, I take it you are in Hong Kong. Or just can't sleep. It's only 930pm here in Florida so I didn't expect a quick response to my thread.

I am indeed in Hong Kong, currently debating if it's worth staying up until 3.00am for the kick-off in the Brighton/Leeds game. I am out to dinner with some friends tonight and they've offered to book a private room in a karaoke place that shows all live football matches, but I'm not sure I can be arsed to stagger back to my hotel at gone 5.00am, just to see Leeds lose.

    Then again......

Just hope the Brighton players won't be as tired before the match as you will be after it.

Just had a call to say that the karaoke bar shuts at 2.00am, so it's out of my hands and I'll probably give it a miss(I think it's on in the room, but I'll only watch it of I can't sleep).

Agreed. We have Cairney doing that job at the moment and if we need someone come winter we'll look at it.
