He isnt on that much, the reason we didnt sign Yakubu was because he wanted 40K and we set a wage structure of 30K. Beckford is on 30K a week maximum I find it strange that we are trying to get a decent transfer fee for him. Just get rid, we want him off the wage bill
Reading the story, Dougie only wants players who are hungry for his team. Not sure he is looking at the right player here. However, hopefully we will drop the transfer fee.
We was going around like a bull in a china shop in the end In the last week of the window we bid over 7M for Nicky Maynard, 8M for Shane Long and 6.5M for Nikica Jelavic Beckford was well and truely the after thought. We messed up by not getting Yakubu and then chasing Nicky Maynard for miles too long. If only we could rewind time and sign Jordan Rhodes or Prossie
i still think we should have got yakubu. Wages huge but not much more and they only wanted around £1.5m if i remember right. goal machine
sometimes i think our fans would prefere vardy!! (for the record, i think im one of the few that actually rates vardy)
A Leeds fan posted on here a while back who seemed pretty certain that Beckford was our highest paid player by a mile and was on £28K. I think this is very likely.
Not what a lot of Leicester fans want though! Much better helping the defence out than scoring goals....
Who mentioned Beckford - Perhaps the title of the thread My lad played in a tournament last year and looked quite lazy. He scored a dew goals so i called him Yakubu. If hadn;t have scored the goals I'd have called him Beckford. Yakubu - lazy but scores goals Beckford - lazy
Perhaps be worth re-reading my comment in reply to Ed saying we should have signed Yakubu - never mentioned Beckford!
