HAVING WATCHED LEICESTER on Sunday i must say that they were inept at best Beckford was very poor and played as if he thought he was better than everyone else .Probably the reported 40k a week contract has a lot to do with this . It was also reported that Moyes was so desperate for him to leave they gave him 600k to sign for Leicester .I think it says a lot about Simon that he managed his ego when he played for us and making him captain against Bristol was a master stroke
Now he's scored and presumably got over any mental blocks we may see how he really performs at Championship level. Just have to wait for Paynter now......
And yet i can't find 1 fan saying what a good game he had on the leicester v watford match thread out of 460 posts, and he got subbed after 75 mins.
Well, nobody had a good game second half. But first half he was lively and he has unbelievable pace for such a tall man. He was quality but was perhaps overshadowed by Nugent who has turned out to be our second best signing (behind Kasper, another clean sheet by the way) with his work rate. You always said he needed a 'Becchio' to be with him up front and Nugent is that man.
In the land of Andy Kings Bollocks, Leicester never do anything wrong, even St Ledger is a good player.
Don't call him that! He'll tell you that you're childish for noticing the euphemism he has employed as a username!
I actually think i need to defend beckford here... He was leicester's best signing by far, they will start to see who they have signed now he has scored, the guy is quality.
Some of you Leeds fans are so bitter. He played for us for 3 years, fulfilled his contract, and played miles better than anyone else in that time. Players move to different clubs, get over it. He was a quality player for us.
Not bitter at all, i wasn't bothered when he left, he had good games and bad games but he never played miles better than anyone else at the club, Becchio was more important to us in my opinion, Beckford sulked, he wasn't a team player and had an attitude problem.
The guy will always be a legend for me, however I do think he is a money grabbing ****! Fair enough him leaving for a premiership club but in my eyes hes taken one step forward (to everton because they where in the prem) and 2 steps back to a smaller club in the same league as leeds! His bank balance hasnt mind
The land of reality. Where Hobbs can't pass a ball, Fryatt can't run faster than a tortoise and Waghorn can't hit a barn door from 2 yards.
He didn't start half of Everton's games last season and he has a massive chance of being promoted with a team that'll give him starts every week. I'm not sure how you can say thats money grabbing either as he was on 40k p/w at Everton and we have a 35k p/w wage structure here.
i SAID IN MY intro that he had gone to Leicester for £40k a week I was giving this titbit along with the fact that Moyes paid him £600k to get rid of him as he couldn't handle his ego at Everton he signed for £25k a week at Leeds he was on £6k
Well no, he isn't. I know for a fact that Leicester run a 35k p/w budget with no exceptions. Why would Everton pay us to take him when we are paying them 3m? Think about it...
