I am reading on the BBC that Jermaine Beckford may be going to Huddersfield on Loan???? This has to be wrong surely??? I know they have a few quid from the sale of Rhodes but even if we couldnt persuade him to return then why arent teams such as Wolves, Blackpool or Bolton in for a proven Championship striker!!! Kudos to Grayson if he pulls this one off - I could see Huddersfield pushing for playoffs if he rediscovers the form he was in before leaving us. As for us doing a late bit of business I will be dissapointed if we dont bring in at least one, good young Premiership player who isnt being given an oppurtunity at his parent club and who wants to play in front of 25000 fans every other week and to prove something to the parent club manager. If we cant pull off a loan signing with the crowd and thorpe arch and the like then we really are in trouble!!!!
Long time since Beckford played for us now. Everton and now Leicester dont want him so maybe he's not worth having anymore. Given we have no money, I'd say theres not a cat in hells chance of a signing today, just hope we dont sell any of our half decent lads
Does anyone really understand what a prick Beckford is? The guy is a walking ego and is almost instantly loathed by most of the other players in the squad. He isn't wanted by other clubs or else they would be flying in to get him. Huddersfield is probably his last chance, he's 28 and his best days are now behind him. Don't understand the desire to see him back at Leeds United, just goes to show some people have an hero worship of people that don't deserve it. Edit: Celtic have turned down a bid by Huddersfield for Anthony Stokes. The player is currently injured but I reckon if the price is right, he'll be sold.
Totally get your point boab. I didn't think of that side of it at all. He can also get very prissy when he doesn't get his own way.
