Ive got a lot of time for PNE both because they are one of the grand old clubs and ive good memories of having a laugh with their fans prior to that play off game at wembley long ago. But if they want the services of Mr Beavon they will have to dig "deep" (sorry). As for the comment on their forum about his lack of height, so no short player has ever made it oh apart from Messi owen zola maradona....
beavon is a fantastic player and preston are a club who can dig deep enough for the money we deserve for him. the only thing is, with westlys brand of "football" beavon may struggle as hes not the most gifted airial striker
How much does a player cost these days? Is it £10k per inch? Maybe they would like a tall striker............................Harrold.
Robert Fleck was no giant either but he was one hell of a striker! I hope you can keep Beavon though, will make an instant return to L1 a little easier
Doubt whether we can dig deep these days seem to be cutting costs all over the place and you are right the £50 we offered won't match your price
Fleck was 5`10, a veritable giant, which got me thinking can we name seven premier league players 5`7 and under? heigh ho, heigh ho its off to work we go.......
Shaun Wright Phillips, Aaron Lennon, Alan Wright (long retired), Jermain Defoe are some I can think of!
me too a great day out and i even helped some preston fans fix a puncture................1 million for beever sounds good
You can add Tony Cottee (5' 7") to the list, 603 Appearances scoring 240 goals Not sure he played in the PL though
When God created the human race he apparently gathered up all the left over bits and created Barry Manilow. More recent research has discovered that there was a surplus of these left over bits from which was created Peter Andrew Beardsley. The MBE was awarded for several acts of bravery, including appearing in public. Oh ****, I can't leave this up, can I?
hahaha thats brilliant Ron. Beardsley, Dowie and Tevez. Theres a forward line to strike fear into anyone with eyes.
