Fair play to him, that takes balls! Now that I know his circumstances, I wish I hadn't tried to wum you lot, just goes to prove the old adage, "You should look before you leap!"

I apologise to all ITFC fans most sincerely!

It would be the decent thing for the club to do to help him out.Beattie was the heart of the Ipswich team for those years.A great player.

When you consider what The Beat has done for our football club and put it into context with what we've done for some of our current players it makes me ****ing weep.

I'm proud of our care and compassion shown to our current players (assets) but to be honest, half of The Beat's problems are self inflicted. Where do we draw the line as a club in regard to the welfare of former players?

It's a damn shame how this man, who is revered by thousands lives in near poverty and now in shame. We still idolise him though, he's just a silly sausage...

The Beats is a legend and always will be! It takes balls to do what he has done today and to be honest I expected nothing less from the great man! The club should do more for him afterall it was partly through the clubs negligence that his knees were smashed up in the first place. Daily cortozone injections so that he could carry on playing!

If we can loan £250K to a self confessed gambling addict who has only been here 5 minutes and done **** all we can surely show Beats some compassion and help him out!

Too bloody right JWM, the club uses the history card whenever it suits them but definately turn a blind eye when part of that history needs a helping hand!
