Even though this story is a week old now I couldn't seem to find a mention of it anywhere (maybe it was in OT but if so I thought it warranted it's own thread). So former saint James Beattie has joined Accrington Stanley in a player-coach role! (full article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20274301) I know it's a long time since he left us, but I find it quite sad that his career went more or less downhill after he left us. The Everton move didn't brink out his full potential, and bar his first stint at Sheffield United there hasn't really been much home to write about. What are your fondest memories of the man? A goal in both the league and league cup home games in 03/04 against Pompey are hard to beat.
