Thought I'd post this on here. I feel the tide turning!! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...Norwich-after-furious-row-over-Villa-job.html
On top of which: http://www.greenun24.co.uk/ipswich-...ite_to_head_up_ipswich_town_academy_1_1394266 All we need now is to sign a certain young striker from Huddersfield and the past 3 years will just seem like a bad dream!!
getting excited are we??? just to confirm, he has gone - i have it on very, very good authority so you can get the street party ready. although, you are aware that we are allowed to replace him right?
TRAFFIC ALERT - Carrow rd bridge has been closed due to the large amount of norwich fans waiting to jump off it, also all trains from norwich have been cancelled due to people on the line!
i think we'll survive. not quite ready to take my life over a football manager to be honest, no matter how good he is
Why would we not celebrate, it can only be a backward step for you guys whoever replaces him. See the man has no loyalty, great manager but only interested in progressing his career!!
see, i don't get this. why is it a guaranteed step backwards? why can it not be viewed as a possible chance to get even better? for me, i'm quite excited now the news has sunk in. i found out yesterday evening and slept on it and now feel that this might actually be for the best. if lambert was that willing to leave then it was only a matter of time so we would have been in this position at some point in the next 24 months - i'll embrace it and with another good appointment, we could push on again. you seem to have dismissed our current situation we've been left in - its pretty good
Wow always half full. Tbf you are still in a pretty decent situation but Superman you have just lost the best manager you have ever had. And I'm still not sure that you have the players that a new manager would be able to get the best out of. For me whilst you certainly have quality in your team, they're lamberts players and part of your strength was the unity. I'd imagine a few of the players will leave, possibly to Villa? But it does all hinge on who you appoint, for me Holloway stands out as a candidate who could well do well for you but IMO if you appoint an experienced manager he'll either not be able to get as much out of the so called lesser know players as Lambert or he'll try to bring in some bigger names on big wages which would upset the balance. Or you go for an up and coming manager who may struggle to find his feet in his first season in the PL. But all this is mere speculation. But I do not see it as a good thing for Norwich.
i'm under no illusion that he will be a hard act to follow, but that doesn't mean it is impossible! i'm excited - its the dawning of a new era - we are still a premier league club and we have our best team for 15 years. its disappointing but its hardly the end of the universe. he'd have gone at some point anyway. he was always going to outgrow us. i'll be intrigued to see how he copes at villa. if it goes well he'll probably only be there for three years before going to manchester united. he's more chance of getting to the top from villa than norwich unfortunately. its a massive risk for him though - they are a hard bunch to please at villa park.
why get down over our manager leaving for pastures new? we are in a position to find a decent replacement. no more scratching around in the sand for the glenn roeder's of this world. top young managers will be queueing up for our top post because its an exciting opportunity to build on a very good setup. it might go tits up but then it might with lambert at the helm - thats football, nobody knows! swansea are in the same boat as us - do you expect them to drop through the divisions?
If he does go, we still have lots of very good young players, and we won't become a bad team overnight (Unless Bruce becomes our manager! )
I think you should go for Martinez Bet you get Brucey though although I would feel geniunely sorry for you all
There is no way our board would ever appoint Bruce. We would appoint a manager with a similar ethos to Lambert I should hope.
you do realise the players would cost a fortune, don't you? and you do realise villa can't afford them all right? is it slightly unnerving for you guru, the fact that most city fans on our board are taking this news quite well? are you frustrated that we can see the bigger picture and that things will probably be ok for us? does that wind you up? cos it appears it maybe does, such is your desperation for us to fall apart at the seams.
Good players who are under contract and other than Holt, have made no indications they are unhappy at the club. And certainly much better players than your lot! And we nearly financially even too. No debt, so even if God forbid we lost all our players and went down we'd STILL be in a better position than you!
