BEAM BACK OPTION REBUFFED Posted on: Tue 08 May 2012 The Club have today (Tuesday) been informed by the Premier League that beaming back Sunday's final day fixture at Manchester City to a big screen at Loftus Road is not an option. We were well-aware of the desire for such an event to take place, but unfortunately Premier League rules prohibit the screening of a live match (i.e. beam back) under the terms of their broadcasting contract. This is on the offish. It's a shame as I can't get to the game on Sunday and was wondering where to watch it. At HQ with my fellow Rs would of been good.
That's a real pity, would have been a decent crowd for that. Fair play to the club though for asking the question and being up for it in the first place. It never would have gotten even that far under the Goons.
I'd rather beam back to a time to make sure that the linesman's head is pointing the right way when Clint's goal crossed the line.
It would of been great.... I want to be with a lot of hoops fans for the match... What pub in the bush will be the best...The Adelaide..?
I like the Green... Used to drink in the Defectors weld before matches but they started using plastic cups...Hate that...
Jaysus, read that as Defecators first time round. I know I was at a Gastroenterology conference last week but, Jaysus! See, can't concentrate on anything now! ......
I don't get it. How come you're not allowed to just put Sky on a big screen? We have the PL lunchtime game on the big screen at the KC before our home games so what's the difference? Surely if you're payiing Sky to have Sky in the ground in the first place then doing that would be within the broadcasting agreement. If they're going to get arsey about the entrance fee just scrap it and put 50p on everybody's first drink to cover the costs of the day.
It's because Sky think thousands of people will take out subscriptions so they can watch this one game. If 10,000 turn up to have a party/ wake at LR it may ( in their eyes) damage Murdochs profits. What you get when clubs and the league sell their souls for the Aussie dollar.
