It's getting down to 24hrs before the big one and no matter how realistic or even negative we claim to be I imagine most of us are secretly harbouring images of promotion and our victory celebration. We all want it so much that it's hard to not subconsciously prepare for it. That is the problem, because if it doesn't happen those positive hopes transform from angels into demons (remember 'Raiders of the Lost Ark?).

This isn't intended to be a negative post. We have a great chance and we have to lift the team so 'hope' is absolutely necessary, but also be prepared for the cruelest moments because they are just as likely. If they happen try to keep a grip of yourself for the sake of the team and for the sake of your fellow supporters. If the worst happens we will all feel bloody awful and our patience wil be paper-thin so the last thing anyone will want to hear or read is someone else's emotional outpourings of frustration.

In short let's be men (and I include all the women posters in that) and take it on the chin. We will still be in the play-offs and the lads will have finished 3rd, which is a monumental achievement and one that not so long ago would have guaranteed automatic promotion.

think the only time frustration would really kick in is if there keeper came off with a clean pair of gloves again like last week...
no problem with losing at all, as long as we have given it a real go..

I know two brothers who have completely different attitudes after a loss, one is so gutted he hardly talks, won't watch match of the day or the championship, then Sunday morning he won't buy a Sunday paper and finally he snaps out of it on a Monday, the other one walks out the stadium and what ever happens its done and he doesn't go on about it, its as though its forgotten in a second. They are both mad City fans and have been going for over 20 years but are so different in the way they act.

Good post NT. If everything goes to plan we'll be ok. If everything goes to hell then we have to prepare for our Play-offs.

Is this a parable or do you actually have two brothers?

No its two brothers i used to work with both nice kids and very alike in most ways but completely different after a game and in the way they took the defeat, i used to get on really well with both of them( been big city fans), i left the firm five years ago and so one of them at the beginning of the season, he said his brother was still the same sulked until Monday which he couldn't understand but its just how different people are, i must admit i am a bit quiet myself and feel down but i do still watch Match of the day (not championship) and i will buy a sunday paper

Im the same as the second brother.

If we dont make it on saturday i will walk out knowing we had a great season and we have a chance of winning the play offs.

If not we will win the league next season.

I had moved on from the Barnsley game by sunday. Once the final whistle goes its over with and you move on.

Far too many people and not just on here set there Highs to High and there Lows get so Low.

All will be well IF Hull City play anything like they can do. FACT.

Could I just use this platform to request any flaskers in the bottom ten or so rows, to wash and comb their hair before setting off for the stadium tomorrow? Also try to breathe through the nose, rather than sitting looking gormless with mouth open, as is often seen on telly when City are covered.

I should add get right behind them verbally, get in Cardiff's faces, get on the linesman's case and crank up the volume.

Just as the players should leave nowt in the dressing room, supporters tomorrow should leave nowt in the drawing room.

Glad the wait is almost over... I've hated this week.

One thing is for sure imo is that everything seems to be against us.

    Watford's form
    our form
    who we have to beat
who watford have to beat and their relationship to our club
who manages the team we have to beat and his relationship to watford

every one of those aspects seem to favour watford...

and we know how much the media would rather it'd be watford.

SO WHY NOT **** thE LOT OF THEM AND SPOIL THEIR PARTY!!!

Have a good night sleep lads, relax and when the whistle blows unleash ****ing hell on them.
It's going to be a very tough 90 mins and hopefully we can maintain hope right until the end (and not concede 2 in first 10 mins)

I'm putting aside all negativity for 24 hours.

1-0 to the mighty tigers. a scoreline that has been so emblematic of our team so often and in our last most important historical match.

We have to do it lads. We just have to.

I will be there cheering them on for all I am worth, and if we don't make it, as you say it has been a great season to finish where we are. I just hope that Watford don't draw and we lose, and we miss out on goal difference.

Every player should have covered every blade of grass on the KC pitch by 2:30 tomorrow..win or lose if they're all out on their feet and vomiting on the hallowed turf (ala Bruce Jnr) then I'll know they've given it their all.

Bruce vomits before the match, because he doesn't give a **** about the rules.

11 players constantly vomiting would actually be my vision of hell.
