BBC have placed an article about the dying breed of great partnerships. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20469693 Now it may just be my Rose tinted glasses, but didn't Keane and Berbs get 50 one year, or was that in all competitions? Either way, they were great. Imagine the duel options of having Bale - Ade - Lennon + Rafa from Last year with Bale - Keane - Berbs - Lennon this. With scotty P, modric and Dembele in midfield..... *sigh
Notable by their omissions... Keane & Berbatov Sheringham & Klinsmann Yorke & Cole Arsenal & Van Persie
How about other options. These are from my time (well not the first one really) Gilzean+Greaves Gilzean+Chivers Crooks+Archibald Klinsmann+Sheringham
From the beeb page... 1995-96: Robbie Fowler and Stan Collymore, Liverpool (42 goals). 1996-97: Alan Shearer and Les Ferdinand, Newcastle (41 goals). 2001-02: Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United (40 goals). 2009-10: Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, Chelsea (40 goals). 1999-2000: Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, Manchester United (39 goals).
Can't believe I'm actually having to say this but if you can't post on here without talking about rape and acting like 5 year old then don't post on our board. Thanks for not rising to it, Notso
The Keane and Berbatov partnership was awesome. Was like a telepathic understanding between the two at times. Keane was never the same without Berbatov though, regardless of my opinions and hatred of the bloke, Berbatov was/ is a fantastic player, everything just looked so easy for him, probably the best Spurs striker I've seen live down the Lane.
no sheringham and klinsmann is a disgrace, but then what do we expect from the "big 4"-centric beeb eh?
