Have linked us with a loan move for Jonjo Shelvey, two thoughts, one will Liverpool let him come here bearing in mind how the Gulacsi situation is panning out and is he what we need at the moment? I personally can't see Liverpool holding a grudge about dropping Gulacsi, but there is a possibility they could hold it against us. As for whether we need him, i'd say not definitely, with McKenna, Cairney, Koren and Evans already in CM, plus Oli and Harper in the reserves, it'd take some very good performances for him to come and guarantee a starting place, and whilst I think it is a good move looking for young untried talent (he's only really tried and tested at L1 level) to play on the wing, like Brady and Stewart i'm not sure whether it is a good move for CM, bearing in mind the options we have.
Shelvey is SUPERB!! However, he is in direct competition with McKenna so doubt it is true as he is doing well at the moment and there are others already in competition for that role. I'm not sure if I am missing something, but looking at the BBC Sport Gossip page it only says that Liverpool are willing to let Shelvey go out on loan, and doesn't mention us
You have to click on the link, where it says - Cardiff, Coventry, Birmingham, Hull City and Middlesbrough are among the clubs keen on the former Charlton midfielder, 19, who has started just four of his 22 games for Liverpool. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Shelvey-Championship-club.html#ixzz1Z96C3lGf Sounds like they just picked some random clubs to me.
Jonjo Shelvy could do with a visit to Rooneys hair grafter good player though with a lot of potential so would be great for us, and we are short in centre-mid
Don't know much about him myself. Doesn't matter how many CM's we have! IMO if he is better than them we should try and get him if the budget allows. That should always be the rule.
I would say it is strikers that perform that we need not midfielders. Correct me if I am wrong but haven't we only had two goals from our strike force this season, I include Waggy's wrongly called offside but not pre-season.
If you include waggys it would be 3. Fryatt at Ipswich, McLean at Peterborough, and waggy against Portsmouth.
No. We've had 3 goals from the strikers, 4 if you include the Waggy goa that was wrongly disallowed. It's only attackers that actually have scored for us.
