Manchester United are planning a summer move for Newcastle's Ivory Coast midfielder Cheik Tiote.

    Full story: Caughtoffside

This can't be good. I imagine someone of Tiote's standard would love a move to a top 4 side. In all honesty, I could see him leaving in the summer!

    Your thoughts?

Well if caught offside AND the bbc gossip column (who probably read it on caught offside) are both reporting it, its a certainty! <doh>

I'm sick of people just happily accepting that he's off in the summer.

I know that the BBC use their gossip column to share 'gossip' from other sites. But, the fact that so many people agree and that other clubs are showing interest is surely not a good sign. For instance, if a club such as Chelsea made a bid, I could see Tiote handing in a transfer request. He has said all along that he looks up at Essien as an idol and could you imagine him saying "No" if he had the chance to emulate his role?

He'd be replacing Mikel. And would cost £20m+

I have been saying this for a while, Fergie has been attending way too many of our game for my liking...

... would you honestly begrudge Tiote the move, he is a player who is way too good for us ... at the moment!

If another key player should go, more will follow. Surely the top brass won't let it happen, Tiote will remain at Newcastle.
