BBC say Luiz is criticised by "senior" players for being too relaxed at Newcastle.

A report from a rag top admittedly, but sounds like bollocks to me. If anything Luiz was almost the only one who seemed to be trying to get things moving. This naturally led to some ragged play on his part, but I give him big points for trying when others were playing as if on Mogodon.
Think he gets far too much criticism when he is rarely our worst player.

The truth is CP, we had as a team, had a bad day at the office on the same day as they were on a high! No individual can be selected as the architect of our defeat! However as far as Luiz is conmcerned , I've said it a hundred times, and I'll keep on saying it--he should not be in the back 4 !!!

I love Jose, for his brilliant tactical mind and his successful attitude, plus the fact he is 'one of us' . . but boy do I hate his stubbornness.

Every man and his dog can see Luiz is a two man pivot midfielder. Great passer, dribbler, can shoot wonder goals and offers a decent aerial threat in the centre of the park, something that has been lacking since Ballack left. That are just his footballing abilities, he has drive, likes getting the ball moving forward, passionate about winning and brings flair to the pitch.

And just because Rafa was the one who first deployed him in CM, Jose refuses to, even though Lampard and Mikel are not the most effective and Van Ginkel is out injured.

    Oh well!!

Things have changed considerably since the halcyon days of 2005/6 - even the usual whipping boys have more things to their bows. I can't see anyone other than Jose who can get us through this period; at least he will given a season to knock the team into shape, beyond that he will have to deliver big time.

I like Luiz as the holding midfield player for you - think he's better than Mikel
