Not surprised, but I hope Gus stays well away. Don't want to see another Chelsea great humiliated and shafted by the plonkers who run our Club.
He's a great Chelsea hero of mine , but I wouldn't have put a fiver on him at 25-1. Forget pretty football--lets get back to winning things a la Jose!
How do you choose a manager ?? Past performances ?? Potential ?? Years in the business ?? Beats me. Some managers go from failure to failure yet still get a job. It's like the Australian Cricket team, it's harder to get out then get in !!!!!. Why would anyone employ Mark Hughes? Sven ? Sam Allardyce? These guys have had job after job after job and done bugger all, yet they are still up for more jobs. For me , unbelievably crazy. They are total failures, over and over, so why would you even consider them ?? Because there is no one else the dopes who run the Clubs can turn to. Perish the thought they might have to do some homework to unearth a manager who is doing incredibly well in a small club and has heaps of potential. They don't want that. They want a "track record" they can fall back on, to get them out of the **** when it all hits the fan. So these duds keep on keeping on. We have no chance now of a real ,proper manager ever joining our club. The good ones won't touch us with a barge pole, and for good reason. So we are reduced to scrambling around ex players who "might" make it. Zola and Gus top of the list. Zola is way too smart for the fools who run our Club, and I suspect so is Gus. So we troll for someone who will take the shilling. They are dissappearing faster than last weeks pay. Roman, and your dopey board, you are ****ed. And so are we.
Stay away from Zola.... You can have him in 3 and a half years, once he's got us up and established in the Prem
Wouldn't disagree with that...unless we can get Jose. Though my one reservation with Jose is that he hasn't a great track record of bringing kids through where as Moyes has (though he has been forced to to an extent due to budget constraints). With lots of promising youngsters on the books, the next manager has to start using them better.
Moyes seems the kind of bloke who is very loyal, not after a fat pay check and I somehow think he wouldn't walk out on Everton for another PL club!
Not so sure. He is loyal but he's been there 10 years and won nothing. He's not a young man and really needs to move to a club who can compete regularly if he has any ambition. If say United came calling there is no way he'd turn them down.
