With this being the last GP to be on BBC606 I'd suggest anyone who is still active on the site gives us a few shameless plugs here and there. No shoving the site down peoples throats, just a gentle reminder that we are here.

This site has really grown in the last few weeks and its definitely one of the best places to be to talk F1,
    <ok> guys!

The people on there seem to think it's between this place, Muzz, Clip the Apex and ja606. The last three are ****e, I can't believe anyone would pick them over this place. I'm really surprised the Autosport forum hasn't been mentioned though, if I hadn't come here for the football that's probably where I'd have gone.

I've done a little bit of plugging, on the football boards as well. I'm not overly bothered though, at race weekends and big news stories (last night for example) we get plenty of traffic through here.

Which reminds me... do any of you do live chat during practice sessions and the race? Do you use the chat thing on the not606 front page or twitter or the current race's general discussion thread, or not really bother?

Normally we have a chat in the race thread (I do anyway).
The Chatterbox is a no no for me, full of abusive 12 year olds discussing about 10 million different things.

I ussually do if there are others to chat with. The chat box is a no no as bls says though I do go on there for fun time to time. If this site becomes loads busy-er after the 606 close then I dont think the chat box will work and they will have to rethink it. Maybe different rooms for different football teams and maybe an F1 chat room?

I'm actually off all day Friday so I'll probably be about on here throughout practice. But then again I may end up go karting whilst fp2 is on.

I'll keep trying to drop not606 into conversations on 606 throughout the weekend. This place is good enough to sell itself, we just need to get the people to look in the first place.

I usually watch the practice sessions online, so I'm sometimes on here as well. Usually watch the race at someone else's though, it'd be rude to go round there with my laptop and sit chatting to you guys instead. :D

I think I've upset far too many people on there for me to plug here.

"El_Bando's the least WUMmy poster you could imagine"

"No WUM comments come from him what so ever, in fact, I'd go as far to say he supports all the drivers!"

Well we're getting talked about but maybe we're being a bit heavy handed to do regularly. Maybe more softly softly is required for this evening.
Good effort so far team <ok>

Congratulations on your compliment bando ;)

I came over here the day that the BBC announced it was shutting down 606, hard to imagine but there was not a single post on the F1 board back then. I did a bit of spamming to get a few of you lot over here then but as 606 have decided not to let me sign back into my account I guess El Bando will have to keep that ball rolling. I had a look at Muzz, I don't know if they have changed the format of the forum yet but what put me off it was the horrible design and layout, although I did find the people there to be quite friendly. Nothing to stop people contributing on several forums I guess, but I love it here myself because of the beautiful layout and design of the V-Bulletin forum.

    Hahahahahaha… heroic!
What a modest, self-effacing thing to say Miggins.
    :emoticon-0150-handsTop Geezer.

This is the sort of thing we've also seen from others here, who's reputation goes before them (apparently) and has contributed to the strengthening of this forum. I hope that others will come along, even if only to witness perhaps the best example of this near miracle: José Lorca!

I have to say that the Chat box is the biggest problem with this site.

It is the first thing people see and I am still surprised that I ever looked past it to dig around and find the F1 forum buried beneath it. I very nearly closed my Browser window when I first saw it, never to return. The Chat box is a serious problem here and appears to be completely unmoderated, surely dissuading many from taking the plunge. It should not be on public display but should be a forum specific option (a different one for each of this site's many fora), once 'inside' the site.
