over here its been all about milliband resigning over pdc 's appointment, they are suggesting short does'nt realise what he's done and knows nothing about football or pdc theve even had an american on saying what they do over there, what a load of rubbish cos short is a very astute man imo. anyway maybe it will turn out to be a mistake but at least short is trying his best and it may turn out a brilliant appointment also i dont give a toss about milliband or any other poloticion for that matter.

Said on a similar thread that this is just a convenient excuse for Milliband to quit and go to the US of A under the guise of indignation.

    Of course it is.
He announced his departure 2 weeks ago, now he`s pretending to have principles.
    Typical attention seeking politician.
No loss to the club imo, never understood his appointment or contribution.

So his appointment is having a negative impact on the club and could dissuade investors!

Nothing against Miliband, but like like a lot of other people he seems to judging him by a few cherry picked comments and actions...

no i think its the bbc getting it wrong again, until i lived abroad i did'nt realise the bbc was so biased, when we had the riots over here caused by thaksin the bbc got it all wrong but still persisted with their own views they get socalled experts who are completely out of touch with the real world spouting rubbish and people thousands of miles away think its true.

It's strange how the mass media never seemed to mention his past political comments when he was manager of Swindon..

"A few cherry picked comments"? When those comments relate to supporting an ideal that would happily see the ethnic cleansing of the whole of Europe I'd say they are comments well worth "cherry picking" <laugh> would you not?

Not defending Millibean as I know **** all about the fella and his stance on the issue is probably aimed at getting a few cheap headlines but I'm more surprised to see such apathy towards the appointment of Di Canio from the fans of a club (and people of a city) I've always had massive respect for.

I'm also surprised that so few seem concerned about the image this sends out about Sunderland as a club. Let's be honest a few choice words from Di Canio (as is his want) could well see investors running for the hills and long term that could be very damaging to the club.

You seem to have missed out the fact that he has also been one of the most vociferous supporters of the kick racism out of football campaign...Not exactly a stereotypical fascist trait..

So when he was manager of Swindon it was okay ? When he was playing for West Ham it was okay but, now he is managing us it is wrong.
    Bitter WUMs.

No mate it wasn't but I don't expect better from West Ham fans, I did from you lot that's all.

For the record I really like Sunderland <ok> I've worked there many times and chatted football endlessly with many Mackems, one of my first ever away trips was to Roker and I've never had a bad day when coming to The Stadium of Light. So no bitterness from me and no Wind Up either. I just genuinely expected more of a reaction from people I've always considered fair minded people.

I didn`t know Miliband was jewish, neither do I care.
I don`t know who any of you voted for in the last election, neither do I care.
I am not interested in PDC`s political views.

I expect him to treat all the players regarding skill, ability, commitment etc equally regardless of who they are or where they are from.

If he steps over the line in those areas that is a different matter altogether but as far as I am concerned he is here to manage a football team not a country.
That is what I will judge him on.

That maybe so I wasn't claiming HE wants to wipe out the worlds population of jews but the party he openly supports would like nothing better so you can see why people might be a tad suspicious of Di Canio holding up an "anti Racism" poster whilst sporting a tat of Il Duce....no?

The fact that so many people are putting facism in the same boat as racism says more about their own shortcomings than anything else.

I would suggest reading up on Italian Facism, it probably has more in common with UKIP than BNP, however I'm sure other people with anti Sunderland leanings will be selective with their interpretation of the facts.

Dicanio describes himself as a Fascist...he admires Mussolini
He also says he is not a racist.

He has no place in football...he did a Sieg heil salute on a football pitch

I seriously can not believe people are saying that they will judge him on his football and that his views are irrelevant.

The man is a Fascist supporter....the people who bought us the Holocaust and world war 2... who the **** supports fascism after knowing about the Holocaust...only a fascist!

Don't let your club loyalty blind you to the fact that Dicanio is a fascist **** and should not be in football
