The Chairboys travel to Lancashire for a gigantic battle at the Crown Ground against League 2 Champions Stanley who finished nine points above us last season, there has bee 20 matches between the teams all of which have been in league 2 and it will come as no surprise that 9 of those games have finished as draws, with only 4 wins for the Chairboys, but as this is our first meeting in league one lets hope our luck changes. Gaz has a nice selection headache for a change with Morris, Harriman, Stewart, CMS, PCH and Williams all pushing for a start but with the recent form of Samuel and Thompson makes them undroppable so if no new injuries are reported there are only a few spots up for grabs Tyson will drop to the bench and maybe Freeman or Fred could join him. A Tuesday night trip to Hyndburn isn't on the cards for me even though a free hot dog and a hot drink is included with your ticket but I will be following the events closely and I will be expecting the lads will give it their all before their mid season break and on what looks likely to be a wet and windy night play the brand of total football that we have been producing as of late and travel back to Buckinghamshire with the result in the bag
Team News Adam El-Abd is in line to play the 500th game of his club career, while David Stockdale will continue in goal after joining on an emergency loan last week. Michael Harriman was back on the bench on Saturday after injury, while Bryn Morris is available again after being ineligible to face his parent club Shrewsbury.
Our last 8 away matches have produced 1 win and our last 4 have produced no wins. But we have drawn half of our last 8 and half of our last 4. Doesn't look too bright for the win but hopefully we can scrape a draw. Someone advance me a grand to put on an Accrington win; that should **** them up. COYB
Team news is in at Accrington, two changes for the #Chairboys. Starting XI: Stockdale, McCarthy, Harriman, Jombati, El-Abd, Freeman, Onyedinma, Gape, Thompson, Mackail-Smith, Samuel. #ACCvWYC https://t.co/DRWG04XFf6 Harriman in for JJ and CMS for Tyson
Bollox GOAL! Despite all of Wycombe's early pressure it is Accrington who take the lead as a ricochet falls kindly for McConville who tucks home the opener from close range. 1-0 #ACCvWYC
I wish our fecking lot would catch fire. Actually smoldering a little bit would make a change. Good result for you though and 10th looks quite impressive. I think Accrington are beginning to find the going tough and a good job they got points on the board early.
