Morning lads, lots of rumours doing the rounds on the Gills sites about these two over the last couple of days. Whether it is just a publication trying to get some attention by stirring up speculative rumours not sure. However, the word doing the rounds is we might be showing interest? Remember Scally's got the money from the Gazza deal to Southampton. Thoughts...
Yes that was sorted of said as well, just thought no more reliable source than the TC version #52 Transfer rumours (Gills board). ps. just found one of the rubbish publications that normally copies stuff from elsewhere, which mentioned interest in two Wall players (last line of report), albeit no names mentioned but they were discussed elsewhere, rumour of a rumour of a rumour...http://www.kentsportsnews.com/reeves-opts-to-re-sign-for-altrincham-22-07-2012/
At this time of the year you're more likely to see 'Arsenal sign English player' or Nessie seen at Lakeside'.
Just had a look around to see where this story has come from... Martin Allen was on Talksport Saturday night for 3 hours! I only listened to the first 15 mins but people are saying that during that show MA said he had spoken to Kenny Jackett about the availability of his players but did not name them. Rumours then started doing the rounds from there, I have no idea why those two names came up, probably just someone on a windup.
Batt and Mkandawire were both injured for the whole of last season brb, before that both were favorites with the fans and now that they are back in contention for a place in the starting line-up i can't see us risking them to get injured again at another club. Maybe MA has asked as to whether we have some players available but i very much doubt that it will be either of the two you mention. As for any money from the Gazza deal i'm sure Scally has that tied up in a safe account in Dubai by now.
Martin Allen really is a Mad Dog Roy - what other manager takes his dog in the dugout FFS please log in to view this image
I don't know mate looking at Mad Dog's dress sense, the dog looks cool, whereas Mad Dog looks well rough
Should hopefully find out some news today about his comments on Talksport re Wall players. I believe there is a meeting planned this morning at Priestfield about 10am which include some genuine Gills journos who will be waiting to ask the question.
More likely be one or two of the kids coming through the ranks rather than Batt and Makindwire to be honest..........
Roy - tell mad-dog to speak to Neil Warnock - he's selling all their best players - he'll probably take any rubbish you've got too (as long as they're over 34)
I commented towards the end of last season about my doubts of ever seeing Wardy playing first team footie again at the Den - he's been a great servant for us - but he's two yards slow now for the Championship!
