Just noticed this on Sky Sports News: "With Ken Bates now flushed with £44m in his back pocket, there are now strong rumours that he is looking to buy up a football club back in his native London. Sources close to the Leeds Chairman have suggested he could be on the verge of buying fellow Championship side Millwall. An insider told us: "Ken has admired Millwall for a while and is keen to do a deal as soon as possible. The only sticking point could be what he will do with the rest of the £43m once he's bought the club".
Heyho Jw. Only problem with this story is that Deptford is ripe for plucking and is now an up & coming area. Serious money drifting into Deptford over the next few years. Whole areas being knocked down & re-developed into the 21st century equivalent of Canary Wharf. Northern line being extended southbound. Extensions to the DLR. The 'Wall moving to Middlesborough & being call boring Wall. Can see it all now. Worryingly, at least some of the above is genuinely true. So Papa Smurf might just want a piece of it!!!
Yeah! What an opportunuty for mr. Bates, they maybe even allowed to form a small committee and call it "m.u.s.t" .......now what do you think that may stand for, answers and suggestions most appreciated.
If the 'Wall have taken on KB "adviser" or a new chairman, M U S T stands for Millwall, u Silly Twats
bates ain't that stupid tbh, millwall loseing 4 million a year, will be 10 million in debt to JB soon.Better hope he stays in good health.
Did you say in it,or on it. Berylson's comments come amid a growing dispute between Millwall, Lewisham Council and developers Renewal, who are masterminding the Surrey Canal Project. The Lions want to redevelop the Lions Centre on Bolina Road, which houses the Millwall Community Scheme, but the Council has started a tendering process which could see the land taken over by Renewal.
the point being mighty a building currently in use by millwall looks like being sold off by the council for none football use.ie does the council want to build tower blocks around the ground or on the ground.
We are already £20M in debt to him But the redevelopment will wipe that out completely as Millwall Holdings own a large chunk of the land that's being re-developed - will not only see us debt free, but will see us become a very rich self funding club - will be one of very few teams in the top 2 tiers with a healthy cash balance and will make sure we comply with the Fair Play rules for many many years to come

Chesh its a comunity centre thats all, to get people into sports such as football, basketball, and a whole lot of other stuff, they are building a sports village so theres probably no need for it once its built.. still cant see what your thinking ? wont effect the football club one bit. there will be far greater facilities being built
Speaking to the 'News', Mr. Berylson said: "We haven't been asleep, we've just been concentrating on our football and I hope that's what people would have wanted us to be doing. We've been watching it all pretty closely. exactly the opposite to what bates was doing you lot were all begging for him to put the team first, thats the big difference Chesh our chairman has been doing just that
Goal-music-playing Millwall take the final step into gentrified, tinpot boredom. RIP, once passionate and exceptional club.
