I understand there is going to be an official inquiry into how Ken Bates took over control at Leeds United. I welcome this, as his takeover WAS illegal and should be thrown out. Further news to follow....... Leeds supporters (the real ones, not the Bates followers) contact your MP, your local Councilor's and all other relevant people to demand the inquiry is kept away from football people and Bates manipulation, the man will be brought down and hopefully banned from all football clubs, before he dies.
Bob...to be fair i agree with some of your comments at times but the one above is out of line my friend. Just because some dont mind bates i dont think that gives you the right to call them out as not being Leeds fans.... We all have a right to our point of view...
I like spanish and Leeds-18 also think that your out of order, i too think that there should be an inquiry into his leeds ownership, i dont see any problem with this but i also think fans are going too far to turn against him, after all the only reasons i can see that there is any issues is because 1) hes from london...and 2) he hasnt gone out and spent his whole fortune on players for his club
we don't want him to spend his fortune. We want him to spend our money. The clubs money. The money we pay for tickets and merchandise and pies and keyrings and programmes and for bog roll with the scum badge on and blah blah blah etc that seems to be disappearing into thin air.
yea i do get the point, it is amazing how the schmeichal money hasnt been spent in other areas. Money has been a bit tight and there is no apparent reason as to why, but i think for bigfatboab especially, for him to change his mind on bates i think he would have to spend millions

Or how about when Bates took over the club he [allegedly] did it illegally? That's why there'll be an investigation into it. The largest creditor said they'd cancel their entire debt but only if Bates' offer was accepted. So the whole 'Bates saved us' is bullshit, cause there were other bids on the table. Why was this creditor so keen to lose £18million just so Bates could be in charge? It's not that he's a bad chairman, he's also [allegedly] a criminal.
Sorry Bob but i think your bang out of order. Saying fans who belive/follow/like Bates are not true fans.Just because they dont agree with your view on things dont make them a lesser supporter than your good self. I personaly dont like the bloke and the way he is running the club.Think he IS a horrid little man and crook of sorts. But the true facts are.... 1-He DID save the club from going down the pan for good. 2-We are moving forward as a club,With no dedts as such and making money each season. Ok were not moving forward as fast as we ALL would like.. But he is building for the future.And when we do go up(note i did say WHEN)..we will have a better stadium.All be it meaning more corp boxes etc.. Thats where the money is these days..whether we like it or not.. 3-He is a business man who is running a business and thats all we are to him..Some think that he can have his last big pay day. Now prob gonna get slated for my views...but as i said befor im niether pro nor anti bates..to me he is just some one ive got to put up for just a couple of more seasons..Till the club is ready to sell at a big profit.......So does this make me a lesser supporter than others that hate him and want him out now...??????....NO
Its a no win situation for Leeds fans... Let us assume that they find him guilty, he then needs to be punished. The punishment can only be one of two methods, points deduction or a fine. First is obvious, second option does anyone believe Bates would pay a fine out of his own pocket? So we either get points deducted or depending on the size of the fine Bates might look to force the sale of an asset and the only ones we have are the players.
i dont think you are far wrong ristac, anything an enquiry finds will only punish the club one way or another rather than bates himself. i dont think they can just take the club from him, and i'm sure they will find he will have broken lots of morals and its not the decent way to conduct things, however he'll have it all sewn up and they will find he's not done anything illegally, just exploited loop holes that were availible! so just like when it happened, some one will make up some crap rule in hindsite and punish the club for being naughty!
He really did not save us from going down the pan for good. No matter what anyone says Leeds United would have still been playing this season in one of the English leagues no matter if Bates had come forward or not. Apart from that I agree with what you are saying, my dislike for Bates is down to his lies and attitude and his antiquated ways. I do think he should spend more on players and wages in order for us to compete and I agree with your comments in that he is not spending because he is a business man. Sadly he is a businessman who lives in the past and thinks he knows best no matter what. His methods and way of doing things were fine in the 70's maybe 80's but not any longer. Like it or not things move on and you have to adpapt, he refuses to and this creates a rod for his own back. Bates makes his own enemies, he rubs people up the wrong way and this creates animosity. Bates has made far too many enemies because of his attitude and he thinks he is big enough to take them all on. He will be his own worse enemy in the end and I have a feeling his eventual fall will be an almighty one.
I for one would welcome an inquiry into how BATES got hold of the club and after his recent altercations withh the BBC it wouldn,t surprise me if we had the panorama team investigate him the sooner the better
its all boring now, some of these so called MP's behind it all should just **** off and do something useful like trying to run the country!
