The following message has been sent to the club from the Leeds United Supporters Trust: Subject: Centenary Pavilion for game on Tuesday night. Dear Mr Bates and Mr Harvey The announcement by Peter Lorimer and on the official website that the Centenary Pavilion is to be made available to corporate guests as opposed to fee paying members has been met with great dissatisfaction, and in many cases outright anger, by our members, who have contacted us in numbers to demand an explanation from the club. Our members believe that this decision puts short term corporate gain before long term customer satisfaction, they claim it is short sighted and leaves hundreds of members feeling overlooked. There is a feeling that by this action the club is treating its members as second class fans, of less worth than corporate clients. Full and exclusive matchday access to the Centenary Pavilion is offered as part of the membership package the club sells. Members bought the membership package as advertised. The club is breaking the spirit of the understanding with Leeds United fans who have paid for this exclusive right, and who feel the club has broken a promise, selling them short. We urge the club to make a statement explaining how and why it has come to its conclusion and suggest they reconsider their approach. Leeds United Supporters Trust
The Supporters Trust will be lucky to get a response before the game, it's purely money and that's that.
Bucks did you here him on talk sport? Calling Man U "United" He really is a ****er! Also he was asked a question something about "what he thinks of the 500 people protesting before the game a few weeks ago?" He replied that there were considerably less than 500 because mostly were kids jumping on the bandwagon!!!!! to me the attendance figures going from 27,299 to 23,646 suggests that somethings not right! How often have you known Leeds not be top of the attendance charts? It pains me to see Elland Road empty!!!
It's going to get worse, I reckon we will have under 20,000 before the end of the season and next season (unless there are massive changes) could be as low as 18,000 per home game, especially when Bates asks everyone to pay 15% increase on this seasons charges. The board are not stupid, they know this can't go on.
Kissa, it will be interesting to see our next home attendance without using the man u game as a carrot to buy tickets. Coventry on the 18th will show how many we are losing on a cold Tuesday night. Boab, I doubt there get a response at all!
Why don`t we storm the place, what are one or two bloke going to do on the door, fek all. **** peaceful protest.
This blatant disregard by Leeds Utd to real supporters does not surprise me in the least, It goes back almost for ever. In 1970, when I was 15, I was travelling all over the country from London watching Leeds and one Saturday was at Stoke away when after lots of trouble on the terraces a crush barrier collapsed. I was unconscious in North Staffs infirmary until the following Wednesday evening. When I came round I was told that the whole Stoke team had visited the injured but not a sign of anyone from Leeds United. I had a Gelderd End standing ticket for an upcoming home match against Man U which my Dad returned to Leeds asking if they could provide a seating ticket due to me still recovering, and sent the club a cheque to pay for this. The cheque was cashed but no ticket sent. Numb nuts me still supports them!!!!!
Apparently the reason is to do with allowing the "maximum number of fans to see the game live as possible" and is something to do with the "available seats in the east upper being corporate". Funny that, my mate is sat in the East Upper and he just went down and bought a ticket. He isn't a corporate, he's a broke ass coop worker. Bucks, I think it would be prudent for some of our more law-savvy members to have a quick peruse over the membership T&Cs thoroughly. If there has been a violation then you can bet your ass I'll be asking for a refund. We were planning on going in the pavilion tomorrow night, now that plan is down the ****ter to make way for corporates. I'd imagine a lot of the corporates using the boxes and making use of the facilities will be scum fans as well. **** Bates
If a thousand members asked for a refund then the club would have to take notice surely? No chance of getting a refund of course!
If they have violated the T&Cs or any of the advertising for the membership then they could be in legal trouble over it. This is why I said any law-savvy members we have pottering around should have a thorough read through the material regarding the membership offer and the terms and conditions.
Would we be suing bates or the club? Cos like always the club will just end up paying for that ****s gob!!! and thick businessman skills
it would, unfortunately, be the club. The club would pay out the refunds and bates would remain unharmed. The unfortunate thing is we need to attack the club to get to Bates. It's hard but it's the only way to get rid of that cancerous cretin.
yes bucks and he knows it----we should all stay at home on matchdays until the board get him to fook off
Just so you know, the club haven't broken any rules regarding the membership and the Pavillion cause under the terms and conditions, they can change any of the promises of memberships. The rest of this talk sport interview has pissed me off. "I've looked at the United's last 3 results"...then he avoided a question about the short and long term plans for Leeds United...then played down talk of promotion - "we want to be in contention by the end of the season"...then he rambles for a bit about how good a manager Ferguson is. The fan base is dying. Coventry on a tuesday night - I'd be surprised if it's over 20,000 tbh.
As much as it pains me, & it really does, I have made a conscious decision this season to boycott Elland Road (for as long as possible, I'm not even going to the Scum Cup game). I am not alone either, several of my mates are doing the same. I am a Member & have been since it was introduced, so me & my mates will go to as many away games as possible, but wont finance Bates. Not just because of his crazy prices, but by going to Elland Road we are effectively supporting him & accepting what he is doing. Like everyone keeps saying - hit the old bastard where it hurts - FINANCIALLY.
