I was thinking about the possibility of this the other day, no doubt he is a cracking CB, and he would improve our team, he's quick, strong, doesn't make too many mistakes either.. Versatile also.

Yes he left when we went down to the CCC, but he was easily our best player, he actually tried in the season we went down, it wasn't his choice to leave. I firmly believe that.

However the article did say he would be keen to stay n London.. I think for around the 5 mill mark we could get ourselves what we know to be a Prem quality CB and strengthen our team in doing so. Good bit of business to be had imo

I rate both him and N'Zogbia; but I think it's better not to go back.

I wouldn't have him back, prefer Coloccini-Talyor partnership. I'd have Le Zog back tho, I'd pay up to £15m for him he's that good.

i don't feel he left because he wanted to but because the club sold him as they could make 7.5 mill on him and he has got better now as well.

I'd take him back, classy, young, intelligent, quite quick and strong in the tackle. My favourite moment of the relegation season was when he crunched Kenwynne Jones in the Derby, Jones looked like he'd been hit by a truck. He was the only player I was disappointed to see leave when we went down, but I didn't blame him at all, he didn't deserve to go down based on his performances and he was too good for the Championship.

I'd have him back for the right price yeah, definitely. 5-6m or so. Not priority though. And, would he want to come back?

would love him back but there's a couple of points the main one being was he one of the ones Barton has mentioned (said he stay then left) if so would cause problems in the dressing room imo but i doubt he'd leave the spuds anyway

He's also too good for Spurs's bench and it's good to hear he has ambition outside his bank account <ok>

I would take him back, he is a better defender than both Taylor and Williamson. I also believe his partnership with Colo would now blossom as Colo is a completely different player now. Everyone says you need 2 types of centre back for them to work effectively, a clever centre back and a no nonsense and they would fit this to a tee.

Would take him back for £5m but don't think he would come back here...pity!

While I think both N'Zogbia and Bassong are good players I am still a little hesitant in wanting them back at the club because our team spirit has pulled us through this year with our depleted squad and I wonder if bringing back players who left during our relegation season will disrupt our team spirit.

I also do not think we need another CB, we have got Taylor and Colo as I think our best pairing, and then Williamson and Kadar as back up.

Are people still believing that Barton rant thing that was posted by a SUNDERLAND FAN on APRIL FOOLS DAY?! I mean, really?!

And yeah I would take him back without a doubt. He was the only player to really played well in our relegation season and I 100% understood his decision to move on.

I always remembered him being one of the ones man enough to admit to wanting to stay in Premiership if we went down.

    I'd have him back in a heart-beat

Totally agree with this, I'm not one for looking back, although I'm surprised at how much playing time Bassong has had for Spurs, he wants
to stay in London so that's pretty much it really!
