Basso was released by Wolves today.

After all the rumours about Ikeme, I wonder whether the Leicester sniffing at the Moulinex was really on the scent of the Brazilian?

Alright, don't reply to my post you .... ;)

People on Foxestalk are discussing rumours that we might sign Sol Campbell. Most seem to be against but I disagree. We have been looking for an experienced leader in the centre of defence and he definitely is that.

IF he can prove his fitness... a one or two year contract might solve a few problems IMHO.

Seriously though who the hell is Basso?!

Campbell I'm not sure. Haven't seen him play for years now. I'm not too keen on this 'Euro 2004 reunited' idea though. We've even spoke to Rui Costa this week lol!

Alexander Basso is the keeper who kept Weale out of the Bristol City team and helped to relegate us to League One when we had 20 shots on target against Bristol City's 3 and drew 0-0 back in 2008.

I believe him to be a very, very good keeper.

Just checked him out on Wikipedia. His first name is Adriano and he is 36! Some keepers can go on beyond that but I'm surprised by how old he is.

Maybe it's truer to say he WAS a good keeper!

That game v Bristol was the most frustrating and entertaining 0-0 draw you will ever see in your life. That day i walked away wondering how we didnt score at least 5

I too remember him from the Bristol game - had an absolute blinder by all accounts! Terribly frustrating match. Seem to remember Etuhu missing an absolute sitter as well. If he's better than Weale (which isn't difficult.....) then I'd take him as a No.2.

Always rated by the Bristol City fans i believe, only dropped out of the side because he handed a transfer request in and it was refused by G Johnson at the time. Fell out of favour and that is that. If we have the chance we should sign him up, very good shot stopper and commands the defence well.
