thanks..though i'd rather have got it wrong! Btw, they're talking about it on 3cr at the mo:http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_three_counties_radio oh no, Luke Ashmead was talking about it, but he's finished now...sorry
Maybe he has a stress problem and doesn't feel confidence facing people who might give him a hard time? My main doubt over this is that unlike before the Fans forum when he missed 2/3 of our games Bassini was at the Pompey match albeit looking a little pale happily talking to players and fans on the pitch.
He has lost all credibility in my book now, He doesnt give a toss about the fans , How hard is it to pick up a phone? If he is scared to talk in public then brief a spokesman and let him do the interview! I am getting very worried indeed about this guy!
Dans going to be a bit upset , Rookery Mike is probably gone ballistic! Cant wait for the next podcast!!!
3CR indicated that they found out that he wouldn't be doing the interview from the official site rather than him letting them know.
He did not want to say that players will NOT have to be sold in January to pay the next installment of the bond---because that may well not be true. But he could not say that some WILL be sold ---because that would alienate the fans. He wants to avoid all such questions. He is used to operating behind a veil of secrecy and will not reveal any "plans" because he probably does not know himself what he will be doing next. He is impulsive and an improviser. By the time he comes back to talk, all transfer business will be completed, so that topic will be redundant. Goodness knows what other events will have occurred by then. Will we be asking him why GT left? Will he even still be owner in "the new year" ?
I do agree with you there Roger..its dangerous for any chairman/owner to say "we won't sell" as players get their heads turned by agents and I know a few fans who wouldn't mind seeing the back of Loach and even Sordell anyway! If we got 2 million for SL ofcourse we'd probably take that. I don't think Bassini wants ill (sorry - pun!) on the club at all and has some good ideas BUT fans just want to hear his plans etc if only to as Roger says give them some assurance/confidence. For what its worth I do think he has been poorly but again going to a game 4 days before pulling out of the phone-in doesn't look too great PR wise.
