about money (more) being free up for Malky to invest on new players.

Hopefully this will happen and its not another PR spin statement as we've heard over the years from various directors etc!

i cant see us spending much this season im affraid but i can see a few more academy lads getting a chance and doing well massy, murray and whichlow i think will be important for us and need to step up.
i think MM will have to dip into the loan and free transfer market again

Well he does say the playing budget has been increased by 30% and Malky will get part of the Graham and Buckley money. It would seem hard for him to now not go through with that. If the budget increase means being able to offer a little more in wages that could help us retain key people and attract a bit more quality.

I don't think it means that the wages cap has been lifted, I mean it might have been lifted slightly, but what it does mean is a larger squad than last season.

I think people have been too quick to slate Bassini, without any real evidence that suggests things are taking a turn for the worse at the club. I know im probably in a minority here, but at least give the bloke some time to prove himself - some of the comments people are coming out with are the equivalent of calling for a manager to be sacked before he's even fielded a team.

Im prepared for the abuse, do your worst

He did mention that the wage budget has increased slightly when he spoke to the club site, and he has been pretty good at keeping us updated, the issue is trying to decifer the truth from fiction. However he is making several steps in the right direction.

First up, learn to ****ing read.

Secondly, if you can read, stop telling lies about anyone who doesn't share your precise point of view, you stupid prick (you did ask for abuse ;) ).

If a manager with a track record of relegation and of objectively idiotic press dealings were appointed tomorrow, then yes, I would be calling for him to get lost from day one. Of course, you have to be open to the possibility of being proven wrong, but all things considered I'd be much happier if I didn't have to come to a reasonable conclusion and pray that I'm wrong.

Say what you like about the Russos or Ashcroft. I know which I consider to be the lesser of the two evils, and I know many people here disagree, but each to their own. Whatever pain either or both were prepared to put us through in an attempt to sort the business out, at no point were we going to go into administration with any combination of those two.

    (love you really <smooch>)

I don't think you will get a lot of abuse BBT - especially as you always give good well argued points - and also we all hope that Baz will be the best thing for Watford since sliced bread (what was the best thing BEFORE sliced bread ?) However the judging is on three things - he has failed in just about every business venture on record and was bankrupt 3 years ago - is that the background of our hoped for "saviour", he appears to have no real knowledge of football and he is just giving "nice" sound-bites" - " you will like me, you will like what I do etc etc - no explanation or substance to his words - I hope he is very able, clever, astute, knowledgeable and rich - but have seen no evidence yet.

To be honest I think Bassini is just saying what peolple want to hear and there's is no fact ion it, he might as well come out and say he's going to make a bid for messi!!!

Yes, in terms of keeping fans in know, Baz has been quiet since coming in. But i wont accept that "there's no fact" in what he has said -- "no more players need to be sold" (£4.5 for DG/WB plus £750k-£1.6m for Ashley Young's transfer - this should more than tide us over), "at least a 30% increase in playing budget" (sounds realistic in light of the outgoing players).

It does concern me how GT has come out and alluded to Bassini effectively wanting full control of all decision-making i.e. "ill listen to your advice and opinions, but wont necessarily agree". But again, im willing to give him time to prove me wrong on that one. I fully accept that other fans wont be so accommodating - im of a very positive outlook when it comes to Watford (a wee bit mental, in other words ;) )

And i love you too NNW :emoticon-0110-tongu

i have to admit to my fair share of slagging. When he first showed his face i thought OH GOD! What have we got ourselves in to. But now after a few months i have to take back a fair proportion of that, its nice to see some openness and truth, or so it would seem.

He`s has started giving us info ,so lets see if it is the truth! Give the guy some time to prove himself!(a few more weeks) He made a very bad starting alienating most of the fan base! He didnt need to give us the details of the transfers made , Todays statement to issue a hands off MM ! was good and re-assuring!
He has talked the talk , now lets withhold the judgement until he has had time to walk the walk.

I think he said all that he could on transfers and Malky. He could have said more on ground development, but maybe wasn't asked.

Let us hope that now he is running things he will get far more open. Maybe he has been dealing with many different matters, but he needs to keep his main source of income informed.
