I dont know if this has been posted before, but I found this via a Twitter link. A Charlton fans view of life as an Addick in the area around the 2nd world war. really sentimental and marvellous.

Who did Jimmy Seed travel up north to pick up, you or the relative? It was not Bartram himself as Seed's brother scouted him.

Why would you have uttr respect for a man you just met or perhaps you mean Bartram.

You see JA, it is not clear as you lack punctuation or structure in anything you write.

Bartram has always been my all-time favourite player which is strange and difficult seeing he sadly died two years before I was born.

During my youth though I found an old photo round my Grandparents now I knew my Nan and Grandad were good ballroom dancers yet this photo confirmed they'd entered a won a small competition in the area simply because Sammy was presenting the trophy.

From that moment on Sam Bartram has always been a legend for me regardless what he did on the pitch
