Good, will show a hell of a lot more passion than the rest of the team.

Dont like him but if we're stuck with him he'll get my support regardless. Think he'll do well, people forget tgat before the city game he'd actually put sone decent performances in.

It was on news now. ironic that his twatter rant and fine probably cost him his happiness.

I'd bring in a 10% wage fine for every tweet from any player next season. he'd end up owing us next summer

Joey Barton may be heading back to QPR after Marseille wages impasse
    • Midfielder wants to make loan to French club permanent
    • QPR want him to move, Marseille cannot afford wages

    Dominic Fifield
    guardian.co.uk, Tuesday 11 June 2013 17.13 BST

Joey Barton may yet have to return to Queens Park Rangers in the Championship next season because an agreement is apparently still no closer between Marseille and the relegated London club to make his loan move permanent.

The midfielder spent last season on loan at Stade Vélodrome, helping Elie Baup's side to a second-place finish and Champions League qualification, and aspires to remain in France particularly after his parent club slipped out of the Premier League.

However, Marseille have indicated they would be unable to take on Barton's wages of around £65,000 a week and would need him to halve those salary demands for any deal to be reached.

QPR, who are understood to be willing to allow the player to leave without a fee, paid half of his wages last season but are keen to shift him entirely from their books as they readjust financially to relegation. It remains to be seen whether Baup opts to pursue a deal which would eat significantly into his own budget for next season, effectively leaving all three parties in a state of limbo.

Barton, who is in Northern Ireland studying for his Uefa A licence as a coach, is under contract at Loftus Road until 2015. He confirmed last week that, if no deal is reached with Marseille this summer, he could return to France when his current contract expires, when he will be 32.

So if Barton accepts a pay cut he can stay in his beloved Marseilles. Nice test of his adoration.

we aren't going to subsidise any moves now. players have a choice of taking a pay cut to move or rotting in the reserves for years

I don't think they would, sure we had Rowlands do it but that was only for a year. maybe the long contracts will work in our favour for once.

If he comes back and plays ... The word may is key here

Very unlikely as they love him there and in France ... He could go to any club as third most popular player in the league last season behind Zultan and Beckham. Money deals they will start at half and settle on 75% ish

Bringing up family in France is on his mind guaranteed so I think he will stay but after getting as much as he can

This is all a bargaining exercise in public to gauge all reactions

Unlikely but in a hoops shirt again I think he would put a shift in and is much better suited to this league

Harold and Barton ... How to ruin a football club in one easy step

We need a fresh start. There are quite a few on here who think that he is just the sort of player we need. That may be true on the pitch, but all the other sh|t that comes with it is just what we don't need.

There are several members of the squad who we will probably be keeping that won't want him back. Don't let us start that cr@p all over again, please.
