if barton is told he can leave after his twitter tirade, why hasnt the same been applied to jose?

or thinking of it from the optimists view
if jose is allowed to stay after twitter tantrums, why isnt joey?

im not saying jose should be told to leave. im just wondering why it is so different now. surely if the board were that bothered about him being a thug, they would of shipped him out after his bust ups with shearer

Maybe they thought making an example of Jose by fining him the cash would serve as a final warning? And instead Joey didn't take heed and this is considered the last straw?

Cause Joey did it AFTER seeing Jose's punishment. And Joey is more important to squad harmony so Ashley was probably waiting for an excuse to let him go.

sorry i really dont get the logic behind this post! im probably being stupid

edit: do you mean that ashley thinks he is influential on other players so its best to stop the dissent before it gets out of hand? i originally took it as "ashley doesnt want the team to have any spirit amongst it"

Can't see you being far off, think they know there getting good money for Jose 2 though. Ashley wants anyone who speaks against him out. Harper and then Simpson will be next to be transfer listed.

Yeah, he wants to break down the spirit Hughton created as it's causing problems. Players start questioning the regime and he wants to stop this. The ringleader is Joey, therefore get rid of Joey.

    Bingo.
    But why Harper?

    Harper?

He's probably quite a big character within the team but he's a great pro and I highly doubt he'd ever slag off the club.

Sad when politics have to enter football.

I'll be very sad to see Joey and Jose go. Two class players who I don't think we'll replace easily. Not that the Fat Man will worry about that.

I'm surprised Newcastle haven't banned twitter yet. Leeds did it a couple of weeks ago, for a lot less than this. Joey Barton just needs to get on with it, he owes Newcastle a LOT, after they basically rebuilt his career.

Its true but unfortunately its a lot more complicated than that as it always is here! They have refused to offer him a contract and want him gone. Same with Nolan, Jose, Carroll. They want to reduce the debt but seem unwilling to say it. Its a racing certainty that Enrique will leave with an hour of the window to go, with no replacement. But they still say differently and then move the goalposts all the time. They are creating a poor environment in a football club. I honestly believe if they just come clean, after the initial anger and disappointment, the club would just pull together and get on with it. The players would know where they stand instead of all this going back on agreements. These lads deserved better after helping us out of the ****. I'm sure you know what I mean here having seen the tough end of a relegation. They can't marry business strategies with football. They just don't understand it.
